...and make it something better than Trindon at DE.

Go!

Someone on here mentioned putting Herman Johnson in the FG block formation, lining him up in the center.

And that's a terrible idea.

I had Herman Johnson as a running back (well, walking back actually) but that doesn't count either.

This is a serious thread.

Move Quinn Johnson back to LB.

Find somebody who can block the gunners on punt returns. Hawkins, Lafell, Eugene, and RJ Jackson have all failed at this role the last 3 years.

More LB's on punt coverage. Too many TE's and DE's trying to chase people (Mit Cole, Pepe Levingston for example last year).

An O-line of Black, Helms, Miller, Johnson, Barksdale.

Run the WR screen's to our shorter, more agile receivers, instead of Lafell and Toliver.

Thats all for now

Except for this...

Murphy at QB, take direct snap, handoff to Chuck Scott or keep and have him run option to the side with ability to run or pitch to Keiland.

ok, hear me out....

We line up Richard Thompson at the other DE position opposite Trindon (who is working his way up the depth chart).

With me so far?

I say we get Lolo Jones into the mix too now.

It's 2008 and the only chick to play Div1 ball was a kicker??? Come on!

Split halfbacks? Yes. I have no idea why LSU hasn't done this over the last decade.

Wishbone? No.

I like this offensive set up

XOOCOO X
V Q
V V

This is based on 1908's line up and Notre Dame's box.

Your forcing the defense to one side and counters and options would kill a slow team.

Doc did you read my reply to Doc Fenton on the QB thread?

Yes, but I have no objective opinions on Doc Fenton. I am unapologetically biased. I mean, 44+ points per game during a national title run? I am the best LSU quarterback ever!!!
