Whose fault is it that walker was on scout team?
Honestly putting him directly on scout team for next season? It’s Brian Kelly’s fault

may not be about starting but not running scour team for another year.
Early starting has hurt more than helped.

To bad you see everything through color.
No one had said that and you know this.
You just trying to get style points.

If you really, really don’t think he has no shot to start at those schools next season, you either have no idea the caliber of QB WH is or you don’t watch football period.
You think Mertz would start over Howard? Have you seen Mertz play at Wisconsin. It’s just amazing the grieving y’all are doing on here. Shitting on a 5* QB that Bama and UGA think is good enough to actively recruit now and you don’t think he would beat Vanderbilt’s starting QB for next season.
Dumbest, most emotional fan base I’ve ever seen

Lol it’s Kelly’s fault that Walker wasn’t good enough?

1) Just because you’re third string, does not mean you suck. I don’t know how many people I’ve seen think just because he wasn’t getting the reps with 1’s that he’ll be an insurance salesman
I think CBK mismanaged the QB room for this season. You can’t expect a 5 star with his talent to be completely absent on the playing field for two seasons in favor for a running QB too scared to throw it over the middle of the field.
To not even have an open competition in Spring was so lazy on his part.

TBH it's hard cracking a 3 year guy and a 5 guy in front of you.
Experience. Walker may have been the most talented but not the more ready to play.

Syracuse and Tulane are returning their starters. Nebraska has talent at QB(just need a coach). He could possibly start at the others

90 percent of posters have never seen Howard play. It is so odd to me that they all have a strong opinion

Not sure if you've read the whole thread and the discussions that have been had. I mentioned Vanderbilt as a place where he could compete for the job. He would likely not be the favorite, but he could possibly win it.
Graham Mertz was just as highly ranked as Howard out of high school. He was the No. 3 Pro Style QB. Jack Miller was not far below. They both have way more experience than Howard. Florida also may end up with Rashada.
Syracuse has a senior returning starter, Schrader, Nebraska has already taken Jeff Sims in the portal.
It appears you are the one that doesn't watch college football.
And I never said he would have "no shot" to start. That was not my statement at all. But all over college football, teams are recruiting "plug and play" quarterbacks in the portal, basically bringing in a guy that is almost guaranteed to start.
My question is: Where would Walker Howard be that guy? Where would he start next year, no question?
I've come up with a few where he could be in the thick of the competition: Vanderbilt, Rutgers, Boston College.
But there is no school I have found that Walker Howard would be brought in to be THE GUY.
I'm open to changing my mind, so please share your thoughts.

Florida, Auburn, Ole Miss

Florida: Addressed above.
Auburn: Already mentioned as a possibility. They are still looking for a plug and play starter, but depending on how they fare with that, maybe. Also, Auburn does have a returning starter at QB. He wasn't great, but he does fit Freeze's offensive style.
Ole Miss: Jaxson Dart is a returning starter.

See youre conflating experience with talent. There was no one on your list of teams that are as talented as Howard. If experience is the only attribute you factor in to a starting QB, Myles Brennan should have started over JD last year.
I genuinely don’t think you watched a single snap of Schader, Mertz, Sims. They’re putrid. If Syracuse even had an inkling that they could land Howard, they would kick Schrader’s arse out the door so fast to make Howard QB 1.
My point is none of the QBs you listed mean shite when you have a 5* QB coming in that is objectively more talented than the current roster. Howard would absolutely win those jobs including Ole Miss and Auburn. He wouldn’t be courted by Saban and Kirby if they thought he couldn’t beat out Graham fricking Mertz.

Dart fricking sucked. I don’t know what you were watching last year. Just because he’s a returning starter does not mean he’s the single best option. You’re refusing to admit if there would even be a competition

It will be Georgia or Oklahoma.

TCU. Sonny inevitably has been courting Walker for sometime not only tapping into his ties to Louisiana but also with Bech.

Obviously OP thinks Morris is the second coming of Joe Montana and no one can touch his starting QB spot

The kid I saw play a couple times was NOT READY to see the field at all this year.
The problem I have with this is you’re basing your opinion on a handful of plays of real game footage when he was playing scout team the entire fricking season.
All I hear when I bring up how much potential he has at QB is “well you can’t say that for certain, he hasn’t done anything in a real game.” Yet to make yourself feel better about him leaving, you’re thoroughly convinced he’s a bum based on the same handful of plays in a meaningless bowl game where he had NO real game experience or practice with the first team the entire year
I will repeat- he was NOT ready to see the field this year. And he WAS behind the other 2.
If he wants to get off the scout team, he needs to be a better option than the other guys on the roster. He isn't right now.
Daniels is the returning starter. He's not going to be demoted to scout team QB.
Nuss has pushed hard for playing time, and has overall shown a ton of promise. Enough that there's a big faction that wants to see him named starter. He got the second half of the SEC championship, and a lot of time in the bowl. He's also not going to be demoted.
Howard faced a tough task, which was that he would have to overtake Nussmeier to get significant playing time. Daniels returning actually helped him, in that it bought him another year... because he's CLEARLY behind him now. I suspect Collins will run the scout team, Howard would have had his chance to push. But he made the decision that it's better he go somewhere else, so unless he hated his time here (no indication ever came up about that), he made a business decision that he wasn't catching Nuss.
I don't see any significant programs where he can walk in and take over. He never showed that sign here.
