Since the owner tells OP what he's going to do whether he likes it or not and OP just takes it, he probably should've asked him for a job application this morning

Also if it was only 40 dollars why meet with them? If you aren’t going to throw hands you could just move on. All this thread does is make you look weak for how you were treated and the owner look like a meat head, which most already assume because the guy owns a bar.

The point is you just listen to what people say.
Call the cops, tell them you were physically assaulted, and tell them your story. They’ll ask if you want to press charges. At that time you hold the leverage. The owner will be forced to provide the video, or fold.

Who cares what the owner told you? Did you think he would actually encourage you to pursue the matter? There is nothing headache-inducing about going to a police station and simply filing an incident report. It's not your job to investigate it from there. If things went down in a full bar as you said they did--especially if kids are really being provided alcohol, then surely there would be witnesses to corrobate your story. In the least, if the owner is a legit scumback, you can help start a paper trail for the next sap.
In addition, if you wanted an extra measure of justice, you could have a demand letter sent and file suit against him in small claims, subpoening the video and witnesses yourself. Let him tell the judge what happened to any "missing" video and see if he buys it.

If you honestly really a truly did nothing wrong then you should have done what all respectable and mature fans would have done and punched him square in the face for grabbing you around your neck and treating you like a bitch.
