him getting off on a technicality will mean jack shite though. The fact that it was still in his apartment after all this crap has done enough to show LSU and NFL front offices just how dumb of a son of a bitch he is.

He'll likely enter the league under the substance abuse program, how many front offices will stick their neck out there for a career nickelback?

I doubt the NFL is done with him if they were ever interested in him in the first place. Just look at Vick, if that don't keep you out this surely won't. But he should be done with LSU. But just like Mett or Ryan he'll look at some smaller school first and then try to get into a FCS program later.

I would hope he could somehow get back on the team for next season. Lot of time till spring camp. We need big time playmakers. It's what is really missing from this years defense.

You don't need a search warrant when consent is given.

May sound crazy, but it only takes one technicality to drop charges. Personally I hope the charges stick for his own well being.

Why in the world would you hope that the government be allowed to come into your house an haul you to jail for smoking pot? For one's own good??? you are suggesting jail is safer than smoking? You suggesting we make things criminal and put people in jail "for their own good"? Then let's put fat people in jail for their own good if they're caught with a donut. Since now big daddy government is using prison to protect us from our own lifestyle choices.

starting QB>>>> career nickelback

also, at least Vick did his time and showed he was worthy of getting another chance. Mathieu has shown he doesn't give a frick and no one is going to tell him what to do

Felt bad for him when I thought he was just smoking a little grass for medicinal purposes. But if he's dealing on top of that, frick him.
No excuses.

I don't see fat people selling donuts on the corner hoping to get kids addicted to eating fatty foods. These idiots had a scale and planned to distribute which yes deserves jail time.
Based on the police report, it seems very weak so I'm sure these charges will be dropped.

charges probobly will be dropped, but the dude is a dumbass for being anywhere near anyone having weed. Even if charged it will be a simple possession. The bigger hit to TM7 is never being on the team again and serious damage to NFL career.

Is this an appropriate place to start a Southern Law School vs. Loyola debate?

Exactly. This may sound cold blooded and hateful, but I speak from experience in this area. My heart goes out to TM because I can empathize in a few ways what he's going through right now.

The worst thing that could happen to him, is to get a slap on the wrist, tell him it's ok and he just has bad luck or hung out with the wrong crowd, etc. Because what happens from there is he starts believing that bullshite himself, while continuing down the same path. It's all fun and games now and innocent with weed. It progresses to something "bigger and better" later - opiates, cocaine, etc.

The best thing that could happen is for him to get in as much trouble possible. Maybe it'll be that mustard seed planted that tells him his way isn't working.
