I noticed they did it pretty good when I watched it this morning. I also noticed that the purple section in the corner blended in pretty good with them. It made it look like we didn't have many fans there. The police officer in our section said we were, by far, the loudest and craziest fans he had seen there in years.

I don't know if Auburn's traffic is much better than ours, it was still backed up for a while

90k+ people in one location. It’s inevitable.

People here act like we’re the only school with traffic after the game.

That place with the chicken drop in Slidell was called Salt Bayou Lounge, and Katrina took it out.

I’ve been out of LA for about 30 years, but it was called the Chicken Drop in the early 90s. Lots of fun times there.

We just got back. It was our first time there, as well. We had a fantastic time. Met and partied with a lot of great Auburn and LSU fans. They couldn’t have been nicer. They fact that we were able to pull off the victory made it that much better. GEAUX TIGERS!!!

I was not so lucky the last time I was there. I found their fans very nice overall.

I’m catching up in this thread, but was gonna say the same thing. I’ve been to everywhere in the SEC except for Missouri and Auburn is easily my favorite place to visit.

A beautiful little town, a beautiful campus, and Jordan-Hare is horribly underrated in most CFB environment rankings.

Most importantly, their fan base is mostly great in my experience. Super nice people (and without the cult feeling of the other SEC school in state) who will give you the normal talk, but it’s in a place of fun and they take it well in return - IE, 2016 with the TD that wasn’t, had lots of AU fans shaking my hand/congratulating me until the review and having to do the same to them.

We all have our preferences, but I love the road trip to Auburn.

Sat in sec 36. Had a blast. Great atmosphere. Great tailgating. Lsu was well represented. Trip was a 10/10.

Played golf at Pursell Farms for the first time there Friday. A++. Unbelievable piece of property. Will definitely add this to the bi-annual visit checklist.

Hey CheerWhine

We are the ones with the flagpole. It was great meeting you and glad you found us and able to hang all day. Also glad you got that water bottle in!

Find us if you make it in for Ole Miss.

1st trip as well.

Really enjoyed it. Beautiful, clean campus. We drove in early and walked the campus, Toomer’s Corner, etc…was greeted by a female Auburn fan jogging who made it a point to stop when she saw we were LSU fans - said welcome to Auburn and they were really glad to host us. I almost didn’t know how to react.

Overall, the rest of the day was treated with the same class. Very friendly group. Set up at a local watering hole with $6 pitchers of PBR to watch the early games. Made friends with a local group when we all realized we both hate Bama. They invited us back to their tailgate and we all enjoyed a little brown water before heading to the stadium.

Stadium was as advertised. Auburn fans showed up and were engaged early. Very happy we checked this one off the bucket list. Beautiful day, great weather. Would recommend anyone that could make the trip to do it.

same for me. Great experience. Downtown, as small as it is, is cool and has some good restaurants and bars. Pretty campus, great stadium, loud (and nice) fans.

Nothing bad to say about my trip there.

I am real dumb.

What is the importance of the empty water bottle?

Nothing really important, I was just carrying it with me, but the security dude said "I can't let you take this in here, it's against the rules". He told me to go put it in my car, but that was a long ways away, and Auburn's site literally says this:

quote:

For your convenience, complimentary water refill stations are available throughout Jordan-Hare Stadium. Fans are allowed to bring in one empty water bottle for use at the complimentary water refill stations or one unopened factory-sealed bottle of water (up to 1 liter in size).

Fill it up at the water fountains. Cheer, did you forget your jacket at the wrong seats? If so, you were right in front of us. Overall, a great experience—friendly fans, beautiful campus, no traffic leaving. Plainsman Park will be similar this spring. Highly recommended for your bucket list!

I didn't, but maybe the people sitting next to me did. We were originally in Section 61, row 13... then moved to section 62, same row.

Yeah, we were 61 Row 14, next to the LSU co-eds that bailed after the first quarter. LSU fans in our section were loud. Overall, great turnout, and big win! Watching the replay right now on SEC Network!
