) Do we know if there was a brawl on the plane way home from 1989 loss to UK?
never heard of that even back then

1989 question again (was a tough year for LSU) did someone steal the playbook from A&M and did we blame that on our loss to them?
same answer as above

thanks for finding and posting the article, sounds like we just missed a FG late, if I recall it was over the post so it was called no good, but it was a long time ago...doubt there is video and I guess even if it was good we cant change it now! but would have been our first win over #1 and we all waited until 1997 for that...
1989 A&M, I know it started with a kick off return for TD and we never recovered from that,

ok, I'm old,
Welcome old man. My first game was against Texas A&M can't remember the year. Late 60's early 70's. I do remember a receiver by the name of McElroy catching a last play touchdown to beat us. It was a long walk back to the car having to listen to the aggies fans whooping and hollering.

I was at that Nebraska game as a wee lad when they came in ranked number one. Vince Ferragamo and IM Hipp. Tom Osborne and Monte Kiffin at D coordinator . I’m pretty sure one of our best players stabbed somebody after the game. Mike Conway missed a 40 yarder at the end and we got the tie.

"Germans" just means "Old News"
As in... "NEWS FLASH: Germans bomb Pearl Harbor!"
Just go with it.

forgot about RW, but Gault I recall, he returned KO 100+ yards and I mean no one was close to catching him (and L Hobley was not slow)...

My first was for the '84 homecoming game against Miss st.
My friend and I actually got lost and this group of Rockin' chicks dressed to kill helped us out. The finest of the bunch actually walked us most of the way back to where we were supposed to meet my parents.
During the halftime show that gal ended up being crowned homecoming queen.

Yup LSU linebacker last name Domingue..stabbed someone in a fight long after the game..someone 'bumped him' in their car or something like that...he was dropped from the team and school...did his time...and became a Pastor..

I was there. I remember Willie Gault burning us on that return and kind of doing the Brad Wing thing to us while passing up everyone. Does anyone remember him doing that?

Rushes-Yards 45-169
Passing Yards 60
I see not much has changed.
Was Les Miles' grandfather coaching LSU back in '76?

In 1982 tie with TN, same question, missed fg's?
I dont remember the game but I do remember a SCOTUS candidate sexually assualted me at that game...
Actually, I was at that game and I remember UT's world class sprinter, Willie Gault, taking a second qtr KO and returning it right up the middle and he hit the afterburners at about the 30 yard line. I think he was taking 10 yd strides by the time he passed the goal line... I also remember the score I think, 24-24. If I could just remember that SCOTUS guy...

UPI ARCHIVES OCT. 10, 1982 LSU 24, Tennessee 24 ByROB GLOSTER BATON ROUGE, La. -- Fuad Reveiz kicked a 52-yard field goal with 2:07 left to lift the Tennessee Volunteers into a 24-24 tie with 14th ranked Louisiana State Saturday night. But Reveiz, who earlier had kicked a pair of 38-yard field goals, missed a 52-yarder with two seconds left to allow LSU to escape with the tie. Reveiz' last second try fell inches short of the cross bar. The Volunteers, who trailed 17-14 at the half, drew to within three points when quarterback Alan Cockrell hit Darryal Wilson with a 9-yard pass midway through the fourth quarter. Reveiz then tied the game with his 52-yard effort. The Tigers, 3-0-1, had taken a 24-14 lead early in the final period when freshman tailback sensation Dalton Hilliard scored on a 3-yard run, capping a 77-yard drive that consisted mostly of passes from Alan Risher to Eric Mortin. Risher completed 14 of 24 passes for 192 yards, but was intercepted three times. The senior quarterback also rushed 10 times for 56 yards, including a 24-yard touchdown on a quarterback draw. Mortin caught six passes for 109 yards. Alan Cockrell, a sophomore quarterback, completed 21 of 38 passes for 214 yards and a touchdown to lead Tennessee, now 2-2-1. But the Tigers intercepted Cockrell three times. The Volunteers deprived LSU of a chance to gain its 500th career victory by forging the tie. The Tigers are now 499-268-42 since starting a gridiron program in 1893. The Volunteers were able to hold Hilliard, who entered the game as the nation's leading scorer, to only 57 yards on 18 attempts. Willie Gault, Tennessee's speedy split end, was not a factor on offense but did return a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown. Tennessee built a 6-0 lead early in the second quarter on a pair of 38-yard field goals by Reveiz. The contest was a failed struggle until the final 3 minutes of the half, with each team wasting long drives because of turnovers. Liffort Hobley intercepted a Cockrell pass on the Louisiana goal line to end a Tennessee drive, but LSU tailback Garry James fumbled on the Volunteer 7-yard line after the Tigers had driven the length of the field. The fireworks then began, as the teams scored three touchdowns and a field goal in a span of 2:40 at the end of the half. LSU took the ball on the Tennessee 48 after a punt and needed just two plays to score its first touchdown. Risher passed to Mortin for 24 yards, then Risher scrambled the final 24 yards on a quarterback draw. Three plays later, the Tigers extended their lead to 14-6 when cornerback James Britt picked off a wobbly Cockrell pass, avoided being tackled by a teammate and scooted 44 yards for a touchdown. On the ensuing kickoff, however, Gault found a seam up the middle and ran 96 yards for a touchdown, his fourth career return of a kickoff for a score. The Vols tied the game when Cockrell passed to Randall Morris for a 2-point conversion. The Tigers quickly regained the lead when Juan Carlos Betanzos nailed a 46-yard field goal.

Welcome aboard. That was my first year with season tickets. I remember that game as being full of penalties. We couldn’t pass for nothing, but that wasn’t who we were. Remember Nebraska ran that option and that’s who we were going to be. Coach Mac blew that game. There were so many mistakes that I can’t recall specific ones anymore. They all run together. We

I remember Coach Stovall saying that when Gault passed him all he heard was, “Beep, beep”.
