A great defense may be just as important......but I do agree, OL is critical.

one thing im starting to realize after all of these press conferences and reports. the fans seemed a lot more worried about the line than people that have actually coached them and more than people who have watched them. nobody is worried about center or tackle that ive seen. Thompson may be alright with his experience and then you really have one spot to worry about, we have enough guys to where one of them should be ok.

It better be dangerous off the jump. Not the end of the season. By then it's too late. September includes Clemson, Florida and Ole Miss. Being dangerous by the end of the season may mean we lost 2 out of 3 or worse iin September and if that happens you're just playing for the Gator Bowl.

I’m not sure the 2019 O line as good as advertised. The weren’t bad but Burrow and the skill position guys made them look better than they really were.

They were good enough. One thing that OL had in common with this one- a veteran Center.

We were more consistent in run blocking and overall OL execution in 23 than last season for the same reason. Turner wasn’t truly an SEC-level Center physically, but he was a smart veteran leader who got the calls and the snaps right. I didn’t expect we would, but we missed that a lot last year.

If Moore is a good as advertised and we can find a sold starter at LG, this OL could be on the same level as 2019. With a back like Durham, that can be good enough to deliver an effective run game.

Go back and look at the college championships and you will see that almost all had DL that got drafted in first round. OL is important but DL wins 'ships.

There's so many weapons to throw to and we'll see right away against Clemson what he's going to do. Yall better hope to God he doesn't come out against Clemson and try to "Establish the running Game" on the road with that Offensive Line! I'll go ballistic if they try to run it early on and get stuffed. Sling it and get a decent lead, then maybe try to run it a little! Use your weapons and score points. Throw it every down. Too many WR, RB and TE receiving options to not use them.
_________

You sound like you are waiting to panic.

Yes, we have weapons, but saying we need to throw every down is over the top. Case Durham is no slouch and needs opportunities. He is a 1000 yard back if given the ball enough. The way the season progresses should determine the mix between pass and run. Not some predetermined view that has you waiting to go ballistic.

______

Yep. We want both, but hard to place emphasis on Oline higher than Dline. We won a natty when Glen Dorsey and company forced their will on everyone, and also won when the 2019 offense did the same. 2019 was skill position led, but the Oline was good enough to enable what we witnessed.
