quote:

Gary is someone I have watched from afar in the recruiting circuit,” Coach Mulkey said. “When talking with other coaches and recruits, he is always brought up in conversation. His infectious personality has allowed him to create and maintain meaningful relationships with his players and fellow colleagues. Being from an athletic family, his dad having played professional baseball for 13 years, a sister who played basketball in the SEC, a wife who played basketball in the ACC, Gary has a love for the game that shows and is evident in the energy he brings and the knowledge he displays.

Says we will be adding an Associate head coach assuming that role goes to Bob starkey

This sounds amazing. Mulkey just continues to out-do herself with staff decisions.

I saw they demoted the other assistant Rice to recruiting coordinator based on LSU's website. So she shook up her staff to make sure the recruiting is still strong after losing Messer.

I don't think it is necessarily a demotion...I think Mulkey had to change around some job titles to make everything work. I think Rice is very involved with coaching the guards and I doubt that will change much.

You are correct

Still like this hire a lot, I think bringing in Starkey, she had to move things around to hire a more dynamic recruiter on staff. Sounds like a win win for everyone. Starkey will help bring more X's and O's to the table, and they brought a well known and respected recruiter from the AAU circuit.

Wish she could coach all our sports. We'd be a lot better off.

It's almost like Mulkey knows what she is doing and has a plan

Who was the last coach on campus that you felt 100% sure that they had a plan and knew 100% what they were doing? I am assuming Saban is the easy answer?

I'll go ahead and believe you stopped at governor because you don't think half the country deserves a leader like her.

Have you guys heard anything on transfers? I really thought Mulkey would kill it in the portal. Man if we could get that transfer PG from Maryland she is a baller.

When I read "Gary Redus", I thought, wait the ex-Cincinnati Red? It sounds like this is his son.

I was about to say that guy must be 100 because he played for the Reds in the early 80s.
