Kept her on the perimeter all night, stopped her drives to the hoop which killed Carolina. Iowa runs everything thru Clarke, and we shut that down. Clarke was not gonna hit enough threes to beat us.

The whole USC game ran through her

Yep. She's a great outside shooter but if you give her line drives to the basket by overplaying like SC did she's gonna score even more efficiently.

Iowa couldn't face SEC intensity twice in 2 days. USCe took a lot out of them. LSU finished them off.

Iowa did the heavy lifting to beat SC. Iowa then gave Mulkey the blueprint to stop CC and Iowa. Mulkey knew she could beat Iowa and had a masterful game plan.

Because USC was doing everything in their power to stop her, leaving everyone else open.

We were physical with her but didn't sell out to guard her.

It also helped that she got into foul trouble.

Clark also messed up. She focused only on threes. Believe she only had 1, 2 point field goal.

The stretch in the 2nd q while Reese was out and LSU couldn't miss is what won the game, not the defense.

A lot of that had to do with her foul trouble. I think her coach was trying to protect her a bit, in that regard. I hated how tight the refs called the game. But if there’s one silver lining, that may be it.

I said before the game if we held Clarke to 30 we had a chance to win it. We did. Of course, I never could have anticipated our offensive explosion. It was beautiful.

Clark was 10-14 for 20 points inside the arch against USCe.

Clark was 1-3 for 2 points inside the arch against LSU.

Was a huge difference in that Morris was quick enough to stay in front of her. She had a lot of layups against USCe, especially late to keep their lead at 4.

Between that and LSUs bench outscoring Iowa's 30-8, it changed the course of the whole game.

She did not guard anyone the entire tournament. She HAD to guard today and defense takes your legs. Legs feed the wolf.

Watching SC, it looked as though they were slower than Iowa.CC would dribble right by them. They weren't able to against us other than a couple of times.

It was not going to be enough if we didn’t shine like we did in the 4th quarter.
