Time to lock him down for good

Wade about the best that LSU basketball is going to get. I think he has done a good job. The nature of college basketball has just changed. You rarely find a team of all Jrs/Srs. If youre bringing in top talent, you get 1-2 years and you're starting over.
That said, Wade needs to make sure he can find some strong support staff that can help make the team fundamentally sound. I believe he has had some turnover there if I remember correctly.
At times last year it struck me their style was organized pick up game. Cam Thomas was kind of a cancer to team basketball.
I'd like to see them focus more on development and strategy. I think that's been lacking, along with getting the players 1-11 to understand their roles on the team and define them. That's all observational though and my perception.
Overall I think he has given the program more visibility, but for them to make a big leap consistently, I think we need to develop a consistent identity and style of play.
I couldn't really tell you what we are from year to year. It kind of determines who shows up on campus it seems. That's not good.

But why? Nobody is lining up to offer Wade right now. It’d be like the Orgeron extension without the National championship.

How about send Mr. Wade out for some lessons in how coach basic fundamentals of basketball!

Yeah let's send out the winningest coach (I'm win percentage) in school history (includes a rebuild season 1) to get coaching lessons. Nice job ousting yourself as a clown

The sycophantic Wade fanboys can't even see the lack of logical consistency in this thread. You brag about all these high-level recruits, but if he has all these high-level recruits, why is an LS you a top-10 team at the end of the season? The blind adoration would make a lot more sense if his team was ending up in the top 16 at the end of the year after having average recruits.

Look how long it took Baylor. On top of that, Will is frickin what, 39? He’s still learning himself.
You’re just a stupid frick that, I think and hope, is trolling by bringing up Johnny Jones constantly— possibly one of the worst coaches ever hired at LSU in any sport

The General needs an extension. One of the only bright spots we have at LSU and one of the main reasons why Alleva got his incompetent arse ran out of town.

You could make an argument that, based on the talent, his teams have underperformed.
His recruiting has been at a high level. But, the end results have not matched the talent on the team.
He is young. He is learning. So, why do the Wade fan boys act as if he's the Nick Saban of basketball?
If the premise is "he's doing a good job and needs to continue being the coach," I agree. In a few years, he may even deserve the accolades he is now receiving. Right now, he still has some work to do to live up to the hype.

Call me crazy, but Woodard first has to solve the coaching crisis at the only campus sport that matters. Once he's sorted that out, then he can worry about things like the future of bouncy ball.
