If the student section moved, more rowdy people would show up and be closer to the court. The way the system works now the only people in the lower bowl for big games are the nerds that got in line first walking over from their dorms. So anyone that shows up late, well lubricated, and ready to make noise is sitting in the rafters. No one wants to be piss drunk and sit in the dark next to a security guard that'll send you to the student accountability office.

Most of dukes seating is students...

Yet Duke Students have earned their plight. And Duke students are not a bunch of ignorant entitled redneck trash.

But it isn’t the wrong question. The students LOST their seats. That’s what many don’t get. The students stopped going to games. Yes, LSU was bad for a few years, but when you have 30-40 people in the student section, what do you think will happen?
Also, students showed up against Bama, but the entire rest of the non conference they were nowhere to be found. And when I say show up, I mean they were there, not that they were loud

Wrong question. What can we do to improve the student section is the question. If moving it improves attendance and intensity, move it.
Chicken or the egg scenario. If the students aren't showing up as is, then why would you take away the revenue generated by lower sideline seats by simply giving them away to people who don't show up?
If there was max demand for LSU basketball then you could put the students back on the sidelines because non-students would still happily purchase tickets in the current student section. But if you move the students, how many season ticket holders currently paying top dollar (relative to the cost of the other seats) are going to want to shell out the money for worse seats?
Also, LSU isn't the only school that sticks the students in the corner. Arkansas, Mizzou, and Tennessee all do the same

WHY IN THE HELL DO THEY STILL HAVE THE PRESS NEAR THE STUDENT SECTION????
Get their arse out of those prime seats.

The student section went from being decent when I started at LSU to full blown weird nerd fest that makes duke students blush. Felt weird being a normal person, so I think the weirdos kept the normal people away
I was there from 06-10

along the sideline like all the blue blood program programs
This is just false. Yeah, there are some that have students on the sidelines, but alot of other top programs have students on the baseline. And I'm pretty sure the students on the duke sidelines are all grad students and undergrad students are on the baselines.

The Duke Facility barely holds 9,000 fans also.
To compare the two is just comical.
We had a good crowd for Bama and the student section was just about full.
Let's get some momentum and keep it going.

What has the student section done to deserve being put on the sideline?
Pay Tuition
Basketball tickets arent some hot commodity at this point, give the kids a great seat, maybe they will show up. It is definitely worth a shot.

1. Students were good last night. Not great but good.
Ehhhh... I dont know if I'd call them good. Here are my observations:
1. Why are they sitting down? The entire section should be standing up all game. They have no life.
2. When bama had the ball, especially in the latter part of the games - why aren't they making constant noise? Most student sections yall "oooohhhhh" when the other team has the ball especially when they are on the student section side of the court. The place should be filled with noise.
3. They missed a golden opportunity to RIP on Avery Johnson Jr. When Tubby Smith coached Kentucky and Saul Smith would come in as PG the student section used to do the "coach's daughter" chant. Very loudly. Was disappointed they had nothing.
4. On that note, the student section used to single out other players with chants when they got the ball. Not just air ball, but personal stuff about their looks or off court stuff. Our section is only looking for air balls and foul outs. No creativity. They had the we want Clemson chant. Ok. But really nothing creative.
5. Sorry to say this and I know I'll get downvoted but someone said it above.... lots of nerdy looking guys. You need the drunk guys in there. The Greeks. Whoever but you have to bring in people who are there to party. The jumbo tron shots of the student section were cringeworthy with people on their phones, or doing lame dances, or sitting down...
And to the students, the only reason people criticize so much is because everyone knows that if you get hype the entire building follows.
