OK will be sure to pass that on to Brian Kelly . Is there any other coaching tips you want to give him? We are eagerly awaiting your next bright move.

Give Corey Raymond another year with the DBs. The talent is young.

It’s a Burns and Ryan issue. Why we tether ourselves to them I don’t know

The only reason Ryan and Burns play they have information on BK and Diddy that’s the only reason they are horrible for the years they have been playing they have peaked three years ago .

Or, get better players. That would also help.

I imagine, much like Aranda and Chavis kind of were, Baker is essentially the LB coach.

I was just curious as why a LB coach would be asked to coach safties and what is his knowledge of coaching the safety position.

Baker actually coached both positions in his career before becoming a coordinator.

Is there another head coach I’m not aware of? Every assistant is a Brian Kelly hire.

I think he meant did CBK inherit him from O, e.g., Brad Davis.

Was this the right move hiring him for safties coach? Or was this simply Blake Baker looking out for him .I say just let Raymond coach safties and CB.

We have talented young safeties. I like Spears and Kylin Jackson. Once they are playing we won't have a problem with safety play. But we have a number of bodies that are capable and suitable for certain roles but aren't what I would consider DBU caliber. The young ones have the potential to change that, we don't need to see Spears come off the field in my opinion.

Brad was a 2021 hire that became the interim HC for the bowl game when O was fired.

No shite. But Brian Kelly hired him to join his staff. He wasn't forced to.

He's still a Brian Kelly hire.

it would be nice if our cbs and safties were more coordinated, so I also vote for one coach, and I don't care who it is. Just stop with the mistakes in coverage....look at the QB more and ball hawk, intercept.
I've never seen a team knock down or contest so few passes as this group.
Either we are way too slow or we are playing let them catch and tackle...which we are terrible at in the open field. So they might as well try to intercept or knock down the pass. Sure, they will give up a big play, but that is much better than marching down the field eating clock and keeping Nuss and group on the sidelines. That's what I would try to do as an opposition coach to beat LSU.

Retained and hired aren't the same.

Miles hired Aranda. O retained him. Or do you say that O hired Aranda?

Unless you are forced to keep them, retained is the same as hired.

Kelly interviewed Brad Davis and decided he wanted him as a part of the staff. You can parse definitions all you want, but he was hired by Brian Kelly. Just because he hired him from the previous staff doesn't change anything.

So you are crediting O with hiring Aranda. I just wanted to make sure I understand your metrics.

I don't know the contractual elements of his hiring. If keeping Aranda was part of the deal, then no. If he had the freedom to make his own hires, then yes.

I do know that Kelly was not forced to keep anyone.
