I would never suggest “purposefully losing to keep a team out” but I would suggest not giving a shite about a game and not putting in starters and risking injuries. They do it all the time in the NFL. Once you’ clinched your division, they generally only play starters in limited play ornot at all.
I don’t give a shite about SEC champions. Sorry folks, but that “title” doesn’t mean jack shite anymore. We won it in basketball last year and nobody gives a frick outside of a LSU fans.
It’s absurd that it’s even in discussion that a 1 loss non conference champion team would get in over a 1 loss conference championship team. This shite should never even cross anyone’s minds. Conference championships MUST be the deciding factor between two 11-1 regular season teams OR we need to stop playing conference championships. You can not have both. It is unfair to REQUIRE that a 12-0 division winner must play an extra game while their fellow 11-1 division team gets to sit at home, rest and prepare and put them both in the playoffs.

Absolutely. We beat those guys once, giving up three big plays. That won't happen if we do play them again. They could not match up with our receivers. And they had as much trouble with our run game as we had with theirs.

The SEC title is still a big deal. Huge deal, actually, to people like me anyway who have followed LSU since the 70s.
It is a tangible championship, and of not just any conference, the best!
I want to see LSU overtake UGA and Tennessee for 2nd most SEC titles all-time. Right now, they each have 13 and we have 11.
