The 1999-2000 team won 28 games. They won the conference and went to the Sweet 16 of the tournament.

This year's team has 20 wins with 7 regular season games, SEC tourney and NCAA tourney remaining. Can they become the all time leader in wins for LSU basketball?

I can see us being at 28 wins going into the NCAA tournament. Could possibly have a 30 win season.

It’s close. I’d bet on it at this point though. They should at least tie the record

Edit: saw the record is actually 31. That would be tough

They can, but would have to win out in the regular season and get a combination of 5 wins on the sec and NCAA trny

They should. IMO: They're the best coached LSU basketball team ever. They're the best defensive team ever.

Negative on the best defensive team ever. 80-81 had Ethan Martin, Howard Carter, Leonard Mitchell and Greg Cook all superior defenders and Rudy Macklin who was an average defender.

Oh my god. Another greatest ever bc it is now guy. 2006 defense was better than this one imo without looking at anything. Temple and Tyrus would be the two best defenders on this team

I was a student then. The Assembly Center (now the PMAC) was insane for basketball then. We sat 3 people to 2 seats for the Kentucky game. It was loud and raucous.

I was in Albuquerque at that Sweet16 game vs Wisconsin.. man that game was a disappointment. It was us, Purdue, Gonzaga and Wisconsin there at the regional. Thought we we gonna take it.

Fun season though
