David Toms jumps out as the most obvious...

I got to thinking about this because Ashleigh Gnat is pretty universally loved around these parts, and rightfully so. She is a rock star right now.

I would also submit Seimone Augustus and to a slightly lesser extent Sylvia Fowles. They drew huge crowds when they were here and have won Olympic gold.

It's a very open-ended question. Toms really wasn't a BMOC when he was here but gained more notoriety later. The ladies I mentioned above almost single-handedly took their sport from relative obscurity on campus to being very popular while they were in school.

Lolo Jones, David Toms

Since you said no basketball and baseball, I'm not really including WBB or Softball players. But Seimone Augustus and Britni Sneed would be in the conversation.

ETA: And the Softball pitcher that went on to do local news. Can't remember her name right now, but she was a HUGE deal while at LSU.

The answer is easy, albeit not obvious.

Lolo Jones is actually very hit or miss on the likability scale for most people. Same with Mo Isom.

Fun fact about Emily Turner: she once asked in a nutrition class about the nutritional value of semen.

Wife material for sure.

I am going to go with a future tiger. Mondo Duplantis (brother of Antoine Duplantis) will eventually be the most successful. He is a junior at Lafayette high school and has pole vaulted 19 feet 4 and 1/2 inches. This height would have won him the bronze medal in the last Olympics. He will be jumping in the World Championships later this year and is expected to be in the top 3. He will be a future Olympic gold medalist!

If they win the title, Gnat will be a legend. She will never buy a meal in BR again.

I think a couple of the freshman have the same opportunity. Ruby Harrold, Kennedi Edney among them.

If others can name great sprinters I would be interested to see them listed too but Richard Thompson took the silver in the 2008 Olympics behind Usain Bolt. His wikipedia profile says he has the 9th fastest 100M in history and still holds the Trinidad and Tobago record. I remember the tv announcers saying "look how happy Thompson is to be taking home silver to T&T!" and I so wished at the time that they mentioned "LSU Tiger Richard Thompson!"

I was definitely going to say Rheagan Courville. But once she started dating Kramer, she received more notoriety for that rather than being a two-time National Champ.

Bob "Big Red" Causey
Bob Causey - vs England 1983

Captained LSU Rugby to the national championship in 1976. Played 8 years for the USA Eagles International Team. Started at lock for the Eagles in the first ever Rugby World Cup in 1987.

Ask around and you'll find that Big Red is still a legend in US Rugby and the southeastern rugby community.

Current head coach of the LSU Rugby team and has the squad as one of the premier non-varsity in the country.
