Did you hear a single word about pitching or defense? We gave up 10 runs last night.

It appears that the subtleties of the interview were lost on you.

Nice article in the Advocate today re: how well most of the players JJ let go and transferred out are doing at their new schools. Most all of them received little or no playing time at LSU. JJ has a mo of not giving playing time to most incoming freshmen.

PULMONARY would have NEVER said or admitted what Jay said in those interviews. That's my coach!!! He said it will never happen again (his mistake in putting this team together), and I believe him.

Jay's not throwing his coaches or players under the bus like Pawl used to do. I'm just comparing coaches, and thank God LSU has IMO the best baseball coach in the country. I don't know, but I have a good idea how this season will end, and the future is bright going forward under Jay.

Lol, what? Paul said these kinds of things all the time. And because it had been several years since he won a title, it was “he is throwing his players under the bus”. Jay has a couple recently, so this board will back him regardless, but its the same thing

Love everything he said. Maybe love isn’t the right word. I hate that this season is practically a wash at this point. But I have massive amounts of trust that Jay will learn from this and get it right

For those that say he is just talking about the hitting, here he is from a few days ago.

He basically admitted this shite isn't getting fixed this year

Yes. But also get the feeling that this cements him to LSU for awhile longer. He didn’t sound like a guy looking to make the move to the MLB. He sounded like a guy hell bent on fixing this shite show but knows it’s not going to happen this season. I think we are going to bounce back next season.

There was literally one snippet about fielding in that clip. Everything else he said was about hitting. It's clearly his focus at the expense of everything else.

There is another one last week where he did comparisons about fielding percentage this year and last year. And said that the infield play simply isn't good enough. Will see if I can find it

He's basically telling you that he recruited a bunch of guys (with the exception of Milam) who can't field and try to go yard in every at bat. It's great that he acknowledges it, but that is a problem. Do we want guys who can hit? Absolutely, but you need a well rounded team.

First team is what I was getting at. And I cant find a list that has Yorke as a 1st or second team wac 1b or Dardar and Caraway was hyped because of his postseason not his actual season. Point still remains. These guys weren't elite in their old conferences.

Jay is great but getting Skenes from Air Force and him turning into the best pitcher on the planet was by and large luck, nobody could've predicted it and I feel like it kind of warped everything after it. Enough transfers from Rhode Island and Grand Canyon.

Now talk about homegrown Anderson and how he became the best starting pitcher in the nation. And Eyanson, who came from national powerhouse…UC San Diego…to be 1B right behind him.

Our most reliable bullpen arm currently came from Wofford. Good players come to the SEC from smaller schools every year.

Yorke didn’t have 20 homers last year. He had 13.
