Morning radio host former center trying to throw shade on Scott

He said that Scott isn’t faultless in some of the assistant coaching fails. And that he is the one that gives the contract. So the money is all on him.
How do you tell a coach no he can’t hire someone? But other than that the money issue is something I’ll be interested in on the next coaches contract. Does that factor in and maybe lower the ceiling of the contract.

It was T Bob
And I believe Scott already indicated he gives his coaches leeway to make their own hires unlike Alleva who felt the need to interject
I would rather the AD allow coaches to make their own hires and live or die with it
With that said, Pelini must have been a real a-hole playing that kind of shite with LSU coming off a natty

Woodward approved the INSANE buyout and gave too much of a raise in my opinion.

It was T-Bob. He is part of the “O shouldn’t be fired” squad.

Best thing T-Bob has ever done was snapping ball against Tennessee when JJ wasn't ready. Other than that he usually got his shite pushed in like current center.

I think Scott may have had some suggestions, but I wouldn’t think that he mandated anything.
The long and short of it is that O could not evaluate and hire new coaches. He was reckless after the championship and it caught up with him.
Who stakes their job on two completely inexperienced unknowns?

Same guy who gave 90M/100M to Fisher would do that? no way!

Tbob wants o to stay because his dad is a personal friend of O and wants him to stay. Anyone really thinking of lsu can see why he needs to go

Based on stories, he was nothing like he was in 2007. Very arrogant and would basically ignore O. O should have fired him mid season.

You would earn a bad reputation as an AD to not give a head coach full authority to hire assistants.

I found it strange that O was on OTB this AM and all they talked was football. Didnt address the separation agreement whatsoever.
I mean I don't know what i expected them to say that we don't already know.. but to not address the elephant in the room was offputting.

Which is why O should have vetted his hire instead of banging OPP

t bob slurps O off because his dad and O are drinking buddies. He is an idiot.

I mean ... Scott, as the AD and the final word on much of the contractual agreements is NOT without fault on the current status of buyouts, coaches being paid not to coach here, hires made, etc. I don't think Scott himself would hide from that assessment.
He knows that part of all of this is on him, and he's making decisions to move in a direction he sees as more sustainable going forward. He inherited the head coach and tried to provide everything that head coach said he needed to succeed. Scott sees that wasn't working and is going to move forward with a new HC.

T bob likes to act smarter than he is

O was good at a lot of things, but awful at hiring. Being that he was a delegator, he needed to be nails at hiring the correct people.

Not even the highest buyout a school has paid since last year, and that other coach never won a natty as HC at said school. If you're an AD you have to maintain an image that you'll be rewarded for success (like winning a natty) hence the raise and buyout. Also paying the buyout instead of fighting for firing with cause shows that you'll still be compensated for your termination if things go south. Also Woody has shown to give coaches autonomy in making assistant hires (even if O hired some bad ones) only makes the job more desirable. Things like that are more likely to attract big time coaches FAR MORE than any perceived "I have no room for failure otherwise I'll be canned" would keep coaches from wanting the job, like I've seen parroted by a few users here and on the SECR.

Some of you.... I swear to Christ.
1) It's not YOUR money. Why do you care?
2) He had just put together the greatest season in college football history. He signed the extension 2 weeks after the Clemson beatdown.
3) If Woodward doesn't give that extension and raise how do you think that conversation goes when he has to convince a top tier coach to come to LSU? Do you think those types of coaches are just going to take Scott's word if he screwed over O?
Sometimes you have to see the forest through the trees. Thankfully we finally have an AD that is really good at doing just that. The rant will no longer get coaches hired and that's a good thing.
