Per Dandy Don, Raph Rhymes is leading the Tigers in hitting w/ a .405 avg & Mark Laird (true freshmen) is hitting at a .385 clip. Laird also post an OBP of .489. Keep it up NELA & Geaux Tigers!

Ouachita Parish has strong youth programs and very good high school baseball. It shows.

I agree Otis, I have a feeling Laird is gonna be something special before his career is over at LSU.

Whats funny is both players were VASTLY underrated by everyone as well.

And moving Laird to center field will help out tremendously bc of his speed & pure knack for catching the ball.

only to those that did not see them play.

I've watched Laird play since he was in flag I and I can tell you he was special then too.

PM and LSU lucked out that he wanted to be a Tiger so badly.

Yea. Would have been a little low, but batter probably would have swung. Solid first pitch.

He should have a good arm, the old man was a QB and threw the javelin in HS.

This! i understand it must hurt a lot to know you're good, and then have the coach of the team of your dreams pass or slo-play you, but he stuck with his dream school despite not getting the scholly and his play has made us all believers...he gets to live his dream even if it didn't happen the ideal way...

Laird has been a big pleasant surprise this year. Wasn't he one of those later addition walk ons? Dude is so fast and is producing better at the plate so far than anyone could have expected.

Getting a bit off subject but I believe all the Duck Dynasty children go to Ouachita Christian School like our above mentioned Mark Laird.
