He didn't betray his country. The us Olympic vetting process is a joke. A continual chit show of needless rules and regulations that no other country follows. He took the quick route to becoming a pro, representing his family's home country. Next story..

No. Living the USA all your life and not representing your country is a joke.

And he’ll live in the USA after representing Sweden too. That’s the even bigger joke

He didn't "betray" anything. Sweden approached him long before the USATF with a better offer than anything the US team could or would ever offer. People shitting on him have never accomplished anything in their sad lives. Go back to your hole.

ETA: not you, Lou. Just needed to click reply on a post and yours was there.

You know he has dual citizenship? The USA wouldn't let him compete in the world championships and his first olympics because the USATF had a stricter age limit than anyone else. Sweden let him.

His mom is Swedish, his maternal Grandparents live in Sweden, he has always spent part of every year in Sweden as I understand it. The swedes treat him like a national hero.

His mom and dad competed in track and field for LSU. His brother played baseball player at LSU. But LSU fans like you say frick him.

You really should just STFU

You mean he didn't want to pay his own expenses, trade his dad for a USATF coach, compete in a convoluted qualifying process, and take part in a sport that's significantly less popular in the US than it is in Europe?

You're right, he's a Benedict Arnold cuck. Pretty much hates America

Uh oh, somebody has never been to Sweden. He actually is a national hero there and makes a ton of money. No reason to come back to the US.

Compete for USA and don’t make enough to cover your training or compete for Sweden and make millions and be a national hero. You people are delusional

The amount of stupidity you people always post about usatf in these threads is unreal.

Sydney mccalughlin ran for the US as a 16 year old in Rio. Erryion knighton ran for the US last year in Tokyo as a 17 year old. How old was duplantis when USATF didn’t let him compete because of his age exactly? I’ll answer for you: trick question because it never happened. He has competed for Sweden his entire international career, starting with the world youth championships in 2015.

The USATF qualifying system isn’t ridiculous, it’s the only fair way to do it when you have multiple athletes in every event that are good enough to qualify for championship level meets. There were 12 Americans that had the entry standard to compete in pole vault in the Olympics last year. There was 1 guy from Sweden. That’s why Sweden can automatically put mondo on their teams without finishing in the top 3 at their championships and the US can’t.

Mondo chose the easy route in making the decision to represent Sweden. That’s not a bad thing, it was the best choice for his career. But it’s not something to be applauded either, and it doesn’t make the USATF qualifying system bad.
