I'm not going to pretend to know the dynamics between him and his dad, but if I had to guess, they just didn't want to deal with the issues and complexity involved.
Great guess on something that's been publicly stated.

alright gtfo outta here with the arguing about shite from last year. We trying to keep up with stuff that actually matters in the future. He literally posted threads stating what he said. What else is there to argue.

If the 78th and 101st projected picks are "3rd-4th round" how can the 117 pick be the 2nd round?
Probably because the 78 and 101 means overall ranking compared to draft pick selection.
For example, Saquon Barkley was the NFLs #1 overall prospect but he was drafted 1st.

You said it before last year’s MLB draft.
And I'm not really trying to keep this going. I think I've proven my point. I just wanted an excuse to post that gif again.

This is the annual challenge in baseball recruiting since the pros can draft straight out of high school. Smoke Laval used to recruit the best of the best, and annually lose almost his entire recruiting class to the pro draft. It is a real art to sign those players who can be great in college but who will not be on pro scout's radar.
Mainieri has been consistently good at identifying signable targets.

What time does the draft resume?
Posted on 6/5/18 at 11:17 am to LsuTool
Coverage starts on MLB.com at 11:30. I don't think the draft actually starts until 12 though.

What are your thoughts on the recruits? Who is coming to campus? Who signs? Who is on fence?

Can you also add players on the current LSU roster who are draft eligible and when, and who, they get drafted to?

Here’s to hoping ell_13 doesn’t ruin this baseball thread for once
You mean ruin it with actual facts?

Is this a joke? College Baseball 101 level insight right here.

I've never thought Cabell was realistic. Just seems like Nonie Williams to me for no particular reason.
I feel good about Cole Henry.
I'm on the fence on Hill and Marceaux.

Does Cabell’s academy have a history of primarily sending players directly into pro ball? I would assume that’s how/why they end up there to begin with.
