they aren't getting drafted because they told teams they didn't want to be drafted.
They are one of the leaders on this type of thing. It's acknowledged among scouts about Vandy commit signability, so borderline guys just won't get drafted.

Just heard from people that know a lot about the program. Made it sound like getting drafted and going pro after this season has been his goal for a while. Sounds like its more for financial reasons than anything.
ETA: so not a Tyler Moore situation

With about 8 rounds to go how do you think our class is shaping up. Looking good again.
Note: the report on McKay is that he may end up as a reliever could he come out of the pen for LSU? Obviously we want this guy in key weekend roles. Even if he can't start.

McKay will compete with Latz for the 3rd weekend spot
IMO the loser takes closer role.
Also, Godfrey could be in this mix if he ever gets his control down.

Pretty much my thoughts, but I could see Godfrey taking the midweek/long relief role

Hopefully Godfrey has a good fall guy has good stuff but walks way to many batters.

We've had some great pitchers at LSU who took time to develop into, aces; Coleman comes to mind.
I still think it's possible Bain and Godfrey can develop into starters.
I'm not worried about Dunn developing his guys...I'm worried about our outfield.

Trey Dawson to Detroit Tigers in 32nd round

Do y'all think Fraley would play CF next year? Or is one of the guys we have coming in a stud?
I think Fraley can really be a beast but he seems to get a little lost out there some times

Outfield will take a step back but when you practically have 3 CF playing in the outfield when they leave we will take a step back. I know Fraley and Jordan can play in the outfield I think we have two guys in our class who play in the outfield

Detroit going after our guys??? making me nervous.

Detroit is this years Toronto.

He'll get a shot in CF but Fraley is better suited to corner OF IMO. I think we'll have someone with more speed in CF.

Detroit using another late pick on our guys... I'm not too worried about Dawson, he already turned down $650K to come here.

they have just an average pool, nothing to really worry about

Can any of the incoming guys play CF right away? What other do we have any OFs returning besides Fraley and Jordan?
Posted on 6/10/15 at 3:54 pm to thunderbird1100
I'm guessing Detroit is throwing away picks to use money on higher guys.
Posted on 6/10/15 at 3:55 pm to Cap Crunch
Don't think we have anyone on the current team who can play in the outfield other than Jordan and Fraley

They don't really gain any $ towards other guys by not signing their 32nd round pick.
