I’m thinking about going. For people who have been are the cowbells actually unbearable or do people over exaggerate it?

Sit in the LSU section and not really a problem. They are obnoxious though in general.

They are irritating without a doubt. However, Mississippi State fans are generally very nice and cordial, so they don’t taunt you or anything like that. It is generally a good, wholesome family atmosphere both tailgating and in the game. Ms St game is one of the away games I do not miss every time we play there.

The worse their season the less the cowbells are. Went in 2019, wasn’t too bad brought ear protection for the kids.

I have been to several games in Starkville. My favorite thing is that they always have a go to hell Ole Miss sign for every game.

Went for an Auburn game when my cousin played for Auburn. The bells got on my nerves.

They are loud and obnoxious no matter where you sit but they do have rules of when they can ring them. It’s actually kind of weird. I don’t think any of them actually cheer. Just ring those damn bells. When they have to stop it gets kind of quiet. Also if we come out and start kicking their arse early it quiets down in a hurry.

State fans are great. I have been there many (8 or 9) times, for wins and losses. Cowbells have never bothered me especially since they have to stop ringing them when qb is set.

Been once. Fans are nice except for the cowbells. Wore earplugs and could still hear them.

So we both got to see Joes bare arse in person. Good times.

To the OP, fun atmosphere. If you're on the press box side you can catch the coordinators going and coming from the elevator at the upper level. Joe Brady and Steve Ensminger weren't interested in taking pics with Gee Jr. Those guys were all business and it showed on the field. Check with the guys that have been to that game to confirm which side of the stadium the players come in on. Trant had it wrong the year we went.
