Missing out on Feleipe Franks

I remember being pretty devastated when Franks went to Florida, but looking back obviously hindsight is 20/20 because....Joe Burrow. Now Trask is going to be the starter where Franks was supposed to be, and Franks is at Arkansas. Went from oof to champs.

Yeah fair enough. Was referencing this since Finebaum just mentioned Trask as a breakout star Florida, and I thought what the hell happened to that Franks kid.

I no longer get too worked up about quarterbacks...even among the most elite recruits coming out of high school only ten percent ever become SEC-caliber quarterbacks.

No he didn’t. They were never even on the field at the same time. Florida beat LSU, but there were many other players involved. In fact, when Florida kept tricking Aranda, and outnumbering us at the point of attack, Burrow was not on the field, and Franks was just handing off.

I’m no recruiting expert but I remember being extremely underwhelmed with him as a recruit and I wasn’t alone. There was a small collective cheer on the RB when he decommitted to us

Nobody in their right mind would argue that we didn’t luck out by ending up with Burrow over Franks, but you highlight one game where Frank’s fared better, just to be different. Therefore......contrarian.
