Yes. WW is good for at least +3 over Beneford. When I saw Beneford with a whiteboard and not Heier I knew we were in trouble. heier is the best X & O guy on the staff supposedly.

Maybe, and that’s why this loss is so embarrassing. Our head coach can’t even show up to work because of his legal baggage. Hopefully he gets canned soon and we find a head coach who will put LSU first.

I'd imagine he wouldn't get a tech at such a crucial moment. Benford is an a-hole for that.

How often did Dale Brown getting a technical foul called on him end up firing up the team? Plenty, in my recollection.

If the call was blatantly wrong (as in, the 3 should not have counted), having a coach stand up for your team there can be a good thing.

It's easy to say, "it cost us 2 points in a game that we lost by 3", but the strategic use of a technical foul is part of the tool kit. It just didn't work today.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Benford is a long term solution as head coach if Wade leaves. But, it's his resume that is suspect, not one technical foul in that situation.

Maybe. The LSU personality was to not put teams away. 5 or 6 games down the stretch we let teams back in and almost lost. We lost to Florida doing that.

We lost because we let them back in. Waters last two, possessions looked like he was told to throw the game.

Early to,mid second half our defense was awful. They did call a bunch of fouls. The NAZ foul. Giving them the three and then calling the T on Benford. Was,the end. The SEC told the refs to make it happen.

100%. WW wins this game. WW doesn’t make the mistake of not subbing in Emmitt and Days for Bigby and Naz when Florida was making their run. The foul on Naz that led to 6 points due to Naz not being fresh. Days or Emmit playing in that position and that would have never happened.

Emmit was finially subbed in for Bigby but it was a little too late and the damage was done. Days never relieved Naz for a breather. All Naz needed was 2-3 minute of rest and he would have had a much higher energy level to finish the game.

That’s coaching.

Oh well. At least it’s a lesson learned. Or not.

I doubt many people recognize the substitution errors by Benford. I doubt he even recognizes it.

The technical on Benford doesn’t bother me. It was a terrible call and I’d be pissed too.

It was the lack of substitution before the techenical that was bothersome. LSU energy level was way down and they needed fresh legs. Fresh legs were not provided.

Benford wouldn't have gotten the technical if the 3 points weren't counted.

Refs screwed the pooch on that one.

They would have had a better chance. Going down the road it will matter in the tight match ups. His removal fricks with the dynamic of the team. He is the Captain of the fricking Ship!!!

No.

This was the EXACT same game as last time out. LSU plays well in the first half. Is horrible on defense in the second. Inexplicably tries to pressure the ball on UF's last possession in regulation...leading to a wide open 3.

The ONLY difference is that LSU didn't have enough time to tie it up this afternoon like they did 2 weeks ago.

I think the tech was the biggest thing. Maybe WW changes strategy earlier to defend against 3's a little better but who knows.
