What does this have to do with anything? He won a natty, right? He got to another natty appearance, correct?

Only one coach could follow the empire Saban built here and miles got lucky it was him

miles went to a program with 1 winning season from 1988- 2001 and had them winning 8&9 games. he took their recruiting classes from the 50's to having multiple top 20 classes.
he has proven he create a decent program.

if the lsu empire was so set why did a staff of Saban, jimbo, muschamp, kirby smart lose 3 games in year 5?

quote:

He created a culture throughout the whole athletic department that has slowly die

the coach with the most accomplished tenures in lsu history didnt DESTROY a culture. my goodness.

do i think Miles couldve done what saban did in 2000-2004? no but its not a slapin the face to take a backseat to saban.

its also much harder to maintain a powerhouse than create one.

Bottom line, Miles was fired for his refusal to improve the offense, specifically the QB position.

Alleva hired a man who's highlight is a win over a #10 Auburn team at the time but who then lost two more games after we played them.

What I'm saying is we had the man who won the hardware and Alleva in all his wisdom couldn't even hire someone that was equally talented. "I am the search." It starts right there.

You got it backwards. You probably miss read the title. I’ll read it for you and explain it to you so you can understand.

The title reads
“Miles worst lingering effects on the program...name them”

So what he was looking for was like ways people think miles messed up.

If you want to blast Alleva and Orgeron go about 3 or 4 pages back and there are plenty of post there. Or the coaching changes board has so still hanging around.

Sadly, as I was typing this you even went back and changed what you put down which makes me think you too are getting tired of hearing you complain all the time. Makes me think there is hope for you after all.

No I’m really not trying to discredit the fact that Miles is 64 now and I’m sure that is playing into the decision making when universities are looking for a coach. With that being said though he does have a ring and is an awesome guy so from a PR move he works. His inability to change and adapt is his number one set back. It’s not his age. And you can tell that he sees it too as there were reports of him saying he would consider bring Freeze with him if he got the chance. He knows that is what he has to do.

The reason he got fired from here is his inability to adapt to college football changes and grow as an offense. That is it: plain and simple. I mean he was loved by all and carried off the field. He recruited well enough. Fielded a great D. If he would of at least made the efforts to change the offense he Would still be the coach at LSU.

Miles was to LSU football like Obama was to the country as president, an arrogant S.O.B. who's actions caused further division than there already was. The fan base was divided into two factions just as the country was. In their own heads, they were legends and good at what they did, but in reality....

Beat ranked teams, for example we are no5 playing no18. That's not my point.

Show me when Miles took an unranked LSU team and beat no11 Tenn, or no13 Miss St

Lsu doesn't have to be unranked 2001 Sec championship Lsu ranked no21 beat Tenn no2

NO I am not cherry picking, I am pointing out Miles did less with more. A normal year under Miles, Start out ranked around 10, win meaningless games and climb to around 4, then lose a couple games to highly ranked teams.

The NC year he lost to unranked Ark and 17Kentucky.

Miles is what you saw at Oky St. In 4 years go to 3 bowl games and win 1.

I hope he gets another HC job (its highly unlikely) so I can listen to your excuse as to why he falls flat on his face.

FYI, there is a reason he hasn't been hired, after so many coaching changes.

Lingering would be absence of QB development and being thin on the lines. OL got better throughout the season and DL depth is an area of recruiting focus. LB depth was bad late in Miles tenure, but appears rectified.

Can someone please explain or start a thread about how O stabbed Miles in the back to get this job? I keep hearing rumors and innuendo, but have seen nothing substantial. Get it done, Rant.

You cant believe an AD gives a shite what the age of a coach is? The AD is worried about production.

By your line of thinking no one would hire Saban if he were available tomorrow, he is 66.

already being paid well?

This works to the other schools advantage.

This is a Q&A from Marcus Spears to Miles.

Miles went on ESPNU Radio with Marcus Spears and was asked how many teams had seriously talked to him about their head coaching vacancy.

"None. Not one. To be the head coach and offered the job? To say, 'Hey listen, we want you to be the head coach?' Not one."

Guess this is Cherry picking.

Good coaches get hired.

Yes because we have so many 60+ year old coaches getting hired year in and year out... out of 119 jobs they have a total of 6-8 coaches over 60....

quote:

This is a Q&A from Marcus Spears to Miles.
Spears has been loyal to Saban for years I mean when Miles was winning people were bashing Spears for how loyal he was to Saban. Now when Miles struggled he is some sort of prophet.... I'm amazed how many people have been miserable for the past 12 years when LSU has achieved success it had never reached before.

Run up the middle, repeat, throw only to sidelines, punt
Never got a good QB, because of above
Both lines depleted
Players' conditioning lacked since 2011
He must have told the players something to leave early because LSU has the most over the past 10 years. It is like every year this happens.
