Given the state of our rb's, I would say not going hard after ettiene was huge. He would be our starting RB next year, obviously

Did he slow play Dillon(wr)..I don't recall that process

Never getting a good QB i.e. one that he recruited from the beginning. Leaving the lines depleted. Destroying the offense.

The truly sad thing is, the majority of what Miles left behind were positive effects, not negative. Yes, the offense was stagnant under Cam, but the cupboard was certainly not left bare. Don't forget, Brennan committed while Miles was still around. Another thing to not forget is that O was the recruiting coordinator at the time. A major reason they didn't go after Etteine has to do with him.

Sadly, the positive marks Miles left behind are beginning to evaporate at a rapid pace as O and Alleva drag this program into irrelevance.

When Alleva kept him, it hurt....made guys like Quinn, and the other WR from NO are who is killing it elsewhere.

His "longshot" on Valentine fricking sucked as well for the DL

i'll say lack of depth on the dline. apart from that this is O's program. i don't want to see anyone blaming miles for his issues.

Not doing enough to stay on until the end of the 2016 season and getting fired before mid-season.

I think that Miles was substantially above his level of competence as HC. That said, Coach Corndog makes him look like a football wizard.

Lingering CLM negatives:

Fan base frustration
Depleted lines
No expectation for really good QB and no development of same is now normal
General lack of player development and/or usage of talents
Did I mention fan base frustration?
Joe Alleva is still AD
O brought on as DL Coach to begin with/Interim/HC now
Making declaring early for the NFL the goal for every recruit.
Alabama syndrome
Feuding fan base (posi/cheeri/negas)

I realize this is my own list, with a couple of borrows from others that I found. Not all will agree. That doesn't make you stupid. Or me. It's always just subjective and changing.

Don't get distracted by trying to pin our current struggles on Miles.

Where we are today rests solely on the shoulders of Joe Alleva.

Of all the things anyone could fault Miles for recruiting running backs was not one. We are about to have one drafted in the first round for the second straight year.

I wouldn't say that. O was the first personally disloyal coach on his staff, and it obviously cost him.
