He went to Alabama because O didn't have a clue and Saban has him starting at LB.
And he's Charmin soft. He floats around the play and piles on after someone else makes a tackle. He's not actually good.

RickMommy and WaspFense will be here shortly to spin this in Leslie’s favor.

Saban moves Marcus Spears from TE to DE. That worked out.
And we could go thru Miles 11 years and probably find someone they moved that worked out as well
But Spears has talked about it, Spears wanted nothing to do with moving to DE then Saban showed him what DEs make in the NFL compared to TE

he didn’t think Etienne warranted an offer.
Neither did Clemson

Miles wanted Dak Prescott to play TE.
Along with basically everyone else. Wasn't Mississippi State pretty much the only school that offered him as a QB?

Until after we offered him. People have such selective memories about recruitment. And the memories they select only serve to shite on LSU now or in the past.

No, not the only team but they were the only SEC team that offered at QB. That’s why he signed there.

Didn't Les also recruit Dak to play TE?

People get irrational with 20/20 hindsight. You will still find people that will complain that LSU wanted Marshall Faulk at DB. Never mind that Miami the #1 program did also or that he wound up at San Diego St because they were the pretty much only ones that would take him at RB

Kind of. Gary Crowton didn't like Dak as a QB. Ensminger did. Ensminger recruited him as a TE so that he could keep up a relationship with him and not step on Crowton's toes.
Ultimately this was part of the reason Crowton got fired.

Les tried to change a lot of players positions especially at quarterback.

This is true about Marcus Spears. But I recall that Marcus was told he would begin as a tight end and during his true freshman season was moved to the defensive line.
I think all coaching staffs have misevaluated players. But in those last five years, Miles and his staff did too much of that.

Jarvis Landry was one of the best safety's we ever had.
Yeah, but he couldn't hold Trindon Holliday's jock at DE.

He probably would've been a great DB.
Others have made that choice and they ran with it.
I don't know why we're 3 years removed from firing the guy, we have a top 5 team, and there's still a concerted effort to shite on the guy.
Never seen any fanbase with this much of an obsession with a fired coach, when we have a team doing this well.

So in other words...sometimes the moves work, other times they don't...or the player says, "frick that, I'm not moving."
How is this news different for Miles, other than yet another thread designed to shite on the guy that's been gone for three seasons now?

Curtis Johnson and Sean Payton saw something.

Did you read the passage in the OP or just skip totally over it?

Sure, plus they could afford to take a chance. But As athletic as Faulk was he probably would have been a helluva a DB.

By the time les miles left LSU he had completely ruined the WR position (among other positions) that was once so great.
Maybe. If Miles had gotten his wish, and signed Chase as a DB, LSU wouldn't be so thin at CB this year though.
Just saying.
