If Chavis leaves, get ready for a couple of 8-5 seasons while we find another quality defensive coordinator.

Ok, I know that it isn't on topic, but I don't get the hate for Stud after this season. The O-line was a MASH unit with all of the injuries and they still played at a pretty high level. I think that he did a hell of a job. Could use an OC? Absolutely, but that doesn't meant that Stud should go anywhere.

How long have you been his agent? Or are you just a close friend who he has spoken to about this?

This is the reason Miles is able to recruit great coaches and players to come to LSU. He completely has their backs. IF they do well, he pumps them for better jobs. If they do shitty, he covers their arse until they find another position. I love that about our football coach.

Les has his back, his coaches' and most of his players'...
Unfortunately, the person who has LSU's back is Alleva, and he's not up to the job.

So instead of hiring and OC, he's aiding the departure of our DC?

Hopefully he isnt trying to get chavis another raise after he just had one. Especially after the defense letting up at the end of games making A&M and south carolina close and losing the bama game. Isnt he the highest paid defensive co-ordinator at this point?

your title is extremely misleading. you should go into internet journalism where guys get paid by the number of hits as opposed to accuracy. miles DID NOT pimp chavis for the UT job. what exactly was he supposed to say "naw, john wouldn't be worth a shite as UT's head coach. he just isn't HC material". seriously.

Chavis as a head coach would be the disaster that Ellis Johnson was at USM.

Neither, but I can read his interviews where he has said himself he is not interested in being a HC. He has said this very consistently for most of his career. There have been times where he could have been a HC and stayed out of the running.

No. Monte Kiffin tops the list at $1.5M. I think Kirby Smart at Bama makes more as well.

Got an insider tip from someone close to the program Chavis gone to Tenn and Bobby Hebert getting hired to coach the defense. Announcement at press conference to be held real soon.

It's almost comical how anything miles says now makes these guys so miserable. I've never seen anything like it. It's also the same people.

Nothing Miles says makes me miserable. I doubt Chavis is gonna leave for UT, but if he were to leave, it would be a bigger loss for LSU than most would like to admit.

I love Miles, but if Chavis left it would really really hurt. Maybe we could get Coop to come back for the DC position?

Miles is not pimping him, and it is good on Miles to say so - especially if it was in response to a question - which I think it probably was (I did not watch the presser).

Exactly. Nothing for us to worry about

I went ahead and watched the PC. It was in response to a question. Les went on for about a minute talking about what a great head coach Chavis would be in general and at UT. At the end of it someone asked if anyone had asked permission to speak to any coach on his staff.
Miles's response: "No, no... you can, it won't be granted."
