Dude, get the grammar right if you're going to insult another's intelligence. I'd correct it, but it's so fricked up, in a Wisconsin sort of way, that I don't even know what you were trying to say.

It's pretty well known that Michigan never offered him.
UM AD Dave Brandon denied that either Harbaugh or Miles were ever officially offered the job.
I know you can't be so naive to believe there weren't informal offers prior to Rich and Brady hires?
Brandon quoted after Hoake hire:
quote:
"The job was never offered to them," Brandon said. "We did have different discussions with them that were helpful and positive."

This was the most interesting piece in the article to me:
Miles is getting up there in age, but sounds like he may still have a long time left in him. I was thinking 5 more years max, but could be more the way he's talking. I'd love to see him go down as the most successful LSU coach ever. He's arguably already there, but another NC would seal the deal.
quote:
On how long he’ll keep coaching: “I have great energy and healthy. I certainly enjoy young men. I don’t know. For quite some time.”

First I have heard that he was not offered the Michigan job. Oops, I forgot....it is new contract time. WTF is he doing at a camp in Michigan with son?
Miles (a notorious OT baller) went to Michigan to see if the reports of a Dick Butt sighting there were true. Turns out it was Brady Hoke in coaching shorts.

I'm very curious to what the comments and opinions in this thread would be if Manny Miles were a 5* prospect

I'm very curious to what the outcome would be if hot lava flowed through the Mississippi River.

If Miles wanted the job, he would have the job.

if Manny gets on scholly at UM that would be great for him and I am sure he would play baseball for them too.

miles never had a shot at the job. AD and carr made sure of that.

Well Miles said himself that he is trying to get him to come to LSU, but so far, the kid is not biting. Miles would be happy if he did go to Michigan as a second option though.

Miles was offered more than $4 million to coach Michigan, LSU Board of Supervisors member Stanley Jacobs said. He decided to stay at LSU for $3.75 million a year plus more incentive money for championships and the like and a new extension through the 2017 season – three years more than the old contract.
hmmm

quote:
"He was offered more than 4 million to become the Michigan coach," Jacobs said. "When he said no, they came back and offered him more. And he said no again."
quote:
Jacobs, a former president of the Tiger Athletic Foundation fund raising arm of the athletic department and of the LSU athletic council, has been close to comings and goings of LSU football coaches for more than a decade.
Their AD flew into Baton Rouge just to consult with Les I guess.
He obviously wanted the coach that was sub .500 in the MAC instead over a proven guy at one of the most prominent programs in the country. He never offered Jim Harbaugh either
quote:
Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon, however, has maintained the job was never offered to Miles, a former Michigan player and assistant coach under legendary coach Bo Schembechler, or to Jim Harbaugh, another former Michigan player who recently left Stanford to coach the San Francisco 49ers after interviewing with Brandon before Miles did.
Brandon then went off Broadway to the Mountain West Conference to hire San Diego State coach Brady Hoke, a former Michigan assistant, last Tuesday afternoon. Earlier Tuesday, Miles said he was staying at LSU, but Brandon said Hoke was the only one offered the job.
Just wanted to put some Miles on the jet for some consulting. He was never "offered" b/c Les and Jim love Michigan and wanted to let the program save face.
quote:
"Well, if Hoke was his first choice, he could've signed him up prior to ever talking to Les or Harbaugh," LSU chancellor Mike Martin said. "Don't you think?"
On Monday night, Jan 10, Brandon was quoted by the Detroit News upon his return from his interview with Miles in Baton Rouge as saying, "The deal is not done."
Martin was asked how can a deal be in the works if no offer is on the table?
quote:
"I think it's pretty clear Michigan wanted Les," Martin said with a chuckle. "And I'm just glad he's staying at LSU."

Michigan State wouldn't be competitive in the SEC. They'd be the what third team in the EAST at best?
They play SEC type football. Real nasty defense and a power run game. Couple that with good passing down the stretch, and they would have won the SEC East last year. Could have challenged the West. OSU was Auburn without the luck. Actually, if their pass defense wasn't so ridiculously poor, they could have went undefeated.

Due to age factor, the Miles detractors can take solace in knowing he won't likely be offered again and contradict their view of him being worthless.

Absolutely. At least at Michigan, regardless of how his athletic career develops, he'll have the opportunity to get a quality education.

His daughter is at Texas and he wants his son at Michigan so that shows me he is concerned about academics.
