I am right there with you.

I was livid when JJ gave up that 80 yard touchdown right before half in the Arkie game.

I couldn't believe all of those long runs JJ gave up in the Auburn game. I mean come on all of those tackles he missed on Cam were ridiculous.
I guess you forget the consecutive 3 and out drives JJ led in the second half after the defense got him the ball 3 times on the LSU forty or better? Or the failure to score a TD when LSU blocked the Arky punt and got the ball at the 9? Or the INT Jefferson threw overthrowing a wide open Randle in the Auby game? Or his less than stellar performances in 9 of the 13 games being the main reason LSU was ranked out of the top 100 in passing offense or the 4 TD 10 INT season JJ put up in the regular season!

I continue to believe that Miles figured out in the past two seasons that if he's hard on JJ, JJ pouts but that he responds to praise. He also has figured out that Lee plays his best when the starting job is just within reach. And I think he realizes that Mettenberger is the most gifted of the 3 from a QB standpoint but needs to be taken down a few pegs on the "I'm the savior" pedestal.
If I'm right, it may be frustrating to Rantards, but he's doing a damn good job.
(Of course, I'm also of the believe that all of the praise in the world is not going to do a lick of good for JJ. He's not a good QB and never will be)
That's basically how I feel about things

unless a miracle happens, no way JJ finishes the season as the starter. Even moderate imnprovement by JJ would still be subpar for a top ranked team.
I just hope the season isnt lost before Miles makes the change.
JJ is the starter. JL is a great backup and does great in the two minute drill.....but,
Mett has never played a down in the SEC. Do you really think he will start over the other two for what he does in the fall practice?
I don't. I don't think the coaches will wait til the week of the 1st game to declare a qb starter. They need to start grooming him in the spring and continue in the fall. That is what they are` doing for JJ.
I only hope the new Wiz can help JJ to be a better qb and teach him to hit receivers and not throw the ball in the dirt.

They lost 2 games and I know it's fun to play pin the tail on JJ but there were some awful bone headed defensive plays at times.
Sure JJ had some awful times as did other parts of the team.

There may have been a bone headed play on a game by game basis but no defensive player continually underperformed on a week in week out basis and kept his starting job! JJ was one of the worst starting qb's in the country and was the main reason for LSU having a passing offense that finished outside the top 100 for a second year in a row. NO one on defense came even close to approaching that level of ineptitude!

JJ is one man.
JJ's awful time >>>>>>>>>> Defense, Special Teams, etc.

well put sir. if we were all to perform like that at our current jobs(for those of us who have a job)we would have been fired in week 1.

Probably because it is frustrating as hell for most to see him hit wide open wide receivers at their feet and overthrow them. Then when he is taken out see him sulk and pout on the bench and still get put back in to do the same thing!
I understand. I am not saying I support JJ the incumbent having the job until he loses it on the field during the season. I am just stating it is my opinion that it will happen.

So you are stating that experience is better than quality? Is that your point?

I think he will be given every opportunity to start and unless he screws the pooch (especially against Oregon)...If he is the starter I hope they bring in Mett in passing situations or when we are behind in a game.

Right, so your saying the defense really didn't lose the Arkie game and the Auburn game wasn't a real team effort loss.
Game time I am right there cheering on LSU no matter who is playing or not playing. Win or lose by the time the weekend is over so is the game.
I am happy for some of you people that seem not to have a life and can obsess endlessly over this.

What I am saying is the defense/special teams basically won every game the team won last year with very little help from the offense except for the Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Forida games (which was Lee bailing us out). You would think a team with as much talent at LSU across the board would have an offense that would contribute more than that. Again the offense wasnt in the top 100 in passing and the rushing offense was fine and the talent was their at WR and TE. There were some drops but alot more passes from JJ behind the receiver or at his feet.
What I am saying is JJ was saved by the defense and special teams. If they had performed anywhere near the level that JJ performed LSU would have lost alot more than two games.
And if you look at the Auburn game the defense held Cam to 24 pts which was pretty damn good as well!

If Throwing Zach comes out and plays like we're hoping he will, the fact is he probably won't be here for three years. Our top tier players usually don't stick around when given the chance to make some money early.
Thus, I say sit TZ as long as we have moderate Qb play and hopefully when JJ and JL graduate, TZ can really do some damage while giving our backups another year to prepare.

JJ may suck, but he was the best that we had last year. Don't buy into all the Rant memes.
JJ really isn't as bad as he is made out to be by these people on this forum. He actually doesn't suck. There aren't many teams in the SEC who wouldn't love to have J Jeff on their roster this coming season.

Well, I guess his season last year was classified as good and not bad? How would you justify this, by wins? LSU won despite Jordon Jefferson last year.

I understand you have no sense of what makes a good or bad QB, but this is just ridiculous. We can revisit this statement after Sept of this year and see if it has changed.

Shouldnt you be studying or something JJ? Game film? Or I apologize thanks for your input Jefferson family member?
Who exactly do you think in the SEC would want JJ and please tell me who he would start for? Vandy? maybe? Ole Miss?????????????
I would love for LSU's defense to play JJ if he was playing for Arky or Bama!

Qb position will most likely mean the difference between a Cap One type bowl and a BCS bowl this year. It's going to be the offseason obsession.
I honestly don't care who plays QB as long as it is much much better than it was last season.
