Like I said, all of my points are reflective of AFTER 2007, so quit bringing up the NC and all of that
So what's the problem? The guy has ONE down year, and he's suddenly a bad x's and o's guy...a milquetoast coach who's bad at PR? I realise that many were ready to point to 2009 as a repeat of 2008, but as we've seen DESPITE the early warning signs THAT DID NOT HAPPEN. LSU has gone 7-2 thus far, with tight hard fought losses to the #1 and #2 teams in the country, one being on the road in a game that will live in infamy. So...your criticisms of Miles and how we are doomed to FORVER losse 2-3 games to the big boys is based on last year's annomoly and losses to the #1 and #2 teams this year? I disagree, but you're welcome to that opinion.

I'm not unhappy, quit putting words in my mouth. Although I can see you are pretty good at that, trying to shape your arguments with words I did not say. I'm concerned, I'm not unhappy.
Fine...you SEEM unhappy. As for the concern, I don't share it. but then I was not upset with the Miles hire, and did not want him run out of town after the 2005 TENN loss like many did. As such, he got a mulligan from me for last year and he's rebonded beautifully as far as I'm concerned. NO...if it turns out that Miles does his best McClendon impersonation and loses to Florida and BAMA more often than not, something will have to change. But 2 years does not a trend make as far as I'm concerned.

we should dominate games
like in 04, when coming off a natl title, we get steamrolled by uga, needed 3 missed xps to beat oregon state, struggled with troy, squeaked by ole miss and lost to iowa
or 2002, when we lost to VT, needed a miracle for the second year in a row to beat kentucky, lost to arkansas with everything on the line, shutout by bama, run all over the field by texas, and drilled by auburn

Miles DOES NOT Win Games He's Not Suppose to
This to me is a HUGE determining factor on how good a coach really is. I counted over the last 4 1/2 seasons Miles has yet to win a "Big Time" game in conference that he was suppose to lose. If you can't win these games we are never going to meet expectations and Miles will eventually be a 9-3, coach every year. And yeah I know about being underdogs in Bowl games, but how relevant is a Peach Bowl vs Miami and GTech? Yeah we won the Nat'l Champ, but we were suppose to win because we were loaded yet we almost gave that chance away. My topic of discussion is games we were not suppose to win, that we acutally won, which is not many with Miles.
2009
Underdogs vs FLA (Loss)
Underdogs vs UGA (Win, but UGA is terrible and IMO we were suppose to win)
Underdogs vs Bama (Loss)
2008
Underdogs vs FLA (Loss)
Underdogs vs UGA (Loss)
Underdogs vs Ole Miss (Loss)
2007
Favored every game, yet still lost two games, granted a NC
(Keep in mind my topic)
2006
Underdogs vs Auburn (Loss)
Underdogs vs Florida (Loss)
2005
Underdogs vs UGA SECCG (Loss)
Favored all other games this season.
I want to see us win a game at home or on the road that we are suppose to lose, that we actually WIN, and then I will say Les Miles isn't the next Phil Fulmer, and we get 8-10 more years of good football, but not Florida type where we play for the SEC every year and in the title hunt.
When you played, did ya'll upset anyone? Please respond! Was your football coach better than Miles?
Short memoryLSU was 7pt dog to Ga Tech and a dog to Miami in'05.
Once again,please respond!

Oh and he made an even bigger BONEHEAD decision by playing JLEE instead of Shepard in the 4th Q when Jefferson went out.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
you are a fricking retard. LSU fans like you who always believe the better QB is on the bench. Shepard is a great athlete and will be a great player for LSU but not at QB. Its fans like you that give LSU its reputation of being f'ing idiots

Like I said I'm not screaming from the rooftops to fire Les Miles, I've never been a big fan of his but there seem to be some systemic problems here with his teams that are undeniable. This causes the skepticism, this doesn't make me a retarded fan, I'm just not sold on his x's and o's coaching ability. I think you are looking at continuous 2-3 loss seasons for the next 3 years at best, with losses to the powerhouses year over year. That doesn't mean we don't have a good team and get a good bowl game every year, but it does mean we are probably on the outside looking in when it comes to championship games
Kind of like Pete Carroll at USC?

Quick question: If losing games that he was expected to lose makes Miles a bad coach, then what do you think of Saban that actually loses several games his teams were heavily favored to win? (anyone remember the UAB game that oh holy Saban lost!)
UL Monroe?
UL Monroe?

If we don't win those games, we don't win a NC or SECC, that's just fact.
You're right...this is a fact.

My point was that even without those problems we lose 2 or 3 games to the powerhouse teams in the SEC
However...this is not.

To win a lot of games you aren't favored to win, first you have to be not favored. And I promise you, if you start winning a lot of games you aren't favored in, you're going to start being favored in a lot more. Your argument is catch 22

This may have been covered but I believe we were dogs at Tenn(top 10 at the time) and at Arky (top 10) and won both and also dogs in the ND game Im not sure

I'm not reading through this whole thread, but fwiw Herbstreit's #1 confidence pick in college bowl games last year was GA Tech over LSU. No one outside of Louisiana picked us to win that one, and we blew them out. So STFU

Me either. When Miles builds a program as good as LSU's, you don't get many opportunities to win games you aren't supposed to. We are probably underdogs 1 (maybe 2) times a year on average.
But a few examples where we were either vegas underdog, had a worse ranking or both:
1. Miami - Peach Bowl (2005 season)
2. Ga tech - Peach Bowl (2007 season)
3. @Alabama, 2005 season
*We may have been Vegas underdogs last year @Auburn too, of course that was before we knew they sucked

I thought we were talking about Miles? Because I think Saban would have been thrilled with consecutive 2-3 loss seasons while he was here!

I've supported the program for 30+ years so frick you and your 'analyis' of me. I've 'enjoyed the success' by going to every bowl game (even the Chik Fil A bowl last year where NO ONE wanted us to be) and many other games throughout the seasons that I had to DRIVE to from Atlanta. So again, frick you and your fan analysis of me.
Are you sure that you've supported the program for 30+ years, because it sounds like you're about 12!
Just cause you say "frick" doesn't mean your a man! Little girl stop yo bitchin!
