This to me is a HUGE determining factor on how good a coach really is. I counted over the last 4 1/2 seasons Miles has yet to win a "Big Time" game in conference that he was suppose to lose. If you can't win these games we are never going to meet expectations and Miles will eventually be a 9-3, coach every year. And yeah I know about being underdogs in Bowl games, but how relevant is a Peach Bowl vs Miami and GTech? Yeah we won the Nat'l Champ, but we were suppose to win because we were loaded yet we almost gave that chance away. My topic of discussion is games we were not suppose to win, that we acutally won, which is not many with Miles.

2009

Underdogs vs FLA (Loss)
Underdogs vs UGA (Win, but UGA is terrible and IMO we were suppose to win)
Underdogs vs Bama (Loss)

2008

Underdogs vs FLA (Loss)
Underdogs vs UGA (Loss)
Underdogs vs Ole Miss (Loss)

2007

Favored every game, yet still lost two games, granted a NC
(Keep in mind my topic)

2006

Underdogs vs Auburn (Loss)
Underdogs vs Florida (Loss)

2005

Underdogs vs UGA SECCG (Loss)

Favored all other games this season.

I want to see us win a game at home or on the road that we are suppose to lose, that we actually WIN, and then I will say Les Miles isn't the next Phil Fulmer, and we get 8-10 more years of good football, but not Florida type where we play for the SEC every year and in the title hunt.

Most haters just say we are not supposed to lose any games, so any losses are unacceptable. Now, Miles can't win games he's supposed to lose. Tremendous. Just absolutely tremendous.

If Les could only coach our players better so they don't roll their ankle or land on their shoulder wrong, we could have beat Bama.

IMO if you are favored to win a game, you should win. Am I wrong on this? I mean the year we win a NC we have to have all the stars align to back our way into the NC game. Im only saying this because I was listening to a great radio show in Atlanta and they were mentioning how all the good coaches in the SEC get all this talent but the great coaches who shine are those who win games that they are NOT suppose to. For Example, Tommy Tuberville won several games he wasn't suppose to win, Nick Saban while at LSU, Houston Nutt at Arkansas and Ole Miss. I mean come on people, I am as big of an LSU fan as you guys are, but we played absolutely UNSDISCIPLINED Football at Alabama last weekend ( I was there, trust me I saw it) and Miles CAN NOT manage a game. How blind are you people. Penalties and burning Time Outs is ON THE HEAD COACH. The talent on this team is ridiculous, but yet we play not to lose, and until we get our stuff together, it will be like this forever. Look at what Saban and Meyer are doing each and every season over the past three years.

I can't believe that someone actually sat down and rationally came up with that assessment.

"Les Miles doesn't win the games he's supposed to lose"

Unbelievable............

What was the line in the Miami Peach Bowl game? And the BCSCG?

I think we were 'dogs in the Peach against Miami, but might've been favored against tOSU. I KNOW we were 'dogs in the Peach against GT.

Nevermind...just bit the bullet and finished reading the original post. I'm gonna go puke now.

By the way, thread of the decade...

...what season has Miles ever been 9-3?
More importantly - so your central thesis is - Except for the games that Miles won as an underdog, Miles does not win games as an underdog? Startling. Seriously, I'd like to introduce you to a few people in the graduate school, see if we can't get this revelation turned into something more substantial. How about going a bit more general - except for the games that Miles wins, he loses! LSU IS SO SCREWED!

There you go. That was your first mistake. You realize that radio sports shows are there to rile up the unintelligent right?

Depends on what you mean by should. If you are favored in each game does that mean you are favored to win them all? Ask USC,when was the last time they weren't favored? I don't see many people calling for Pete's job.

I'll bite...You say the great coaches in the SEC. How about the one with the most championships. How many games in his career at Florida has Meyer won as the underdog? How many games has he lost when favored. Do the same for Saban at Alabama.

Alright you dumb asses. If you are the HC of a team and you lead your team on the road, or play at home in a Conference opponnent, that means A) You either were lucky (in the SEC, you don't really get lucky that often or B) You are a helluva coach because you can take your talent, which in our case is equally good if not always better than our opponent, and win ballgames you are NOT suppose to win. That is what it means to be a GREAT Coach. Miles can't step up and coach us to a W that we are not suppose to get.

How retarded can you be? Saban won many games we weren't suppose to win when he was here, do I need to name them?

Oh and he made an even bigger BONEHEAD decision by playing JLEE instead of Shepard in the 4th Q when Jefferson went out.

This isn't what I am SAYING. USC doesn't go on the road in the PAC-10 and play in games he's suppose to lose. We do, like Alabama and UF this year. Listen to what I am trying to say here.
