Miles Brennan, the bowl game, and the portal

Could Miles exit the transfer portal, play in the bowl game (a chance to show Coach BK...and other head coaches, that he is fully healed and still can ball), then the-enter the portal if need be. According to anther poster - yes.
quote:
If you enter the portal can you go back to the team?
Yes.
quote:
If so, how long not I’ll the next time you enter a portal?
You can enter whenever but you won’t be eligible for the next season for a new team if it’s not done (and signed) by may 15th.
If what was stated is true, then I hope Brennan jumps in for the Tigers.

Would be a pretty epic last ride and if he balls out then could earn that spot for next year and just stay home

Once someone divorces themselves from a disastrous clusterfrick (what the frick is with these giant arse fonts, Chicken?) it is usually difficult for someone to step back in. I would imagine Brennan feels let down, cheated from "what could have been" and just simply needs to move his life forward, and right now, Kelly doesn't even have a staff to look at and for Brennan to see and say to himself, "I could ball out in this situation".
Nuss is going to be 100% better as a sophomore redshirt freshman QB setting the world on fire. If Brennan comes back, he's the leader for the role, but with questions about his health. Also, Nussmeier might leave if Brennan comes back. OU might need a slinger if Williams leaves, as an example of a school that would be interested in Nuss. Brennan probably sees this and he is so unselfish and loves LSU so much that he knows it's better for LSU for him to give up his dream of being the starter at LSU rather than push the issue.

Not trying to get into an argument but if G has to play in the bowl game, he would burn his redshirt, right? He would've played in 4 games.
I personally don't see the reason to save the redshirt, he would get more practice and have a leg up going into spring when Walker Howard arrives.
That's if Brennan doesn't return and if he does return, he hasn't played in a long time. Not a knock on the kid, he's been in the system for so long, I don't think it would take him long to get back into it but the bowl game is in less than a month.
I'm just wondering if he's physically conditioned to play in such a short amount of time.
I'd love for him to return, these are just some things I'm wondering.

If Myles returns he won't be playing in the bowl game. We ride with Nuss in the bowl game

If this is the plan, he needs to poop or get off the pot. He’s missing a lot of valuable practice time. I don’t see it happening.

That's what I think as well.

The players are off right now so he’s not missing anything. Bowl practices start tomorrow.

They only get 15 practices and the game is almost 4 weeks away.

I don’t think we make Nuss play if he doesn’t want to. If he wants to, let him.

None of us know the private conversations between Myles, Garrett and Coach Kelly.

Sorry, but he needs to do whatever the coach tells him to do.

Doesn’t mean we can’t make up these conversations and pass them off as fact.

Absolutely no reason for Nuss to burn the redshirt in a meaningless bowl against a crap team.

Not to rag on you personally, but this is not the first time this topic has been discussed.
In a process driven culture, there are no big games or small games, only the next game. Some may grab additional notoriety, but it is still the next game. Opponent, location, preparation may change, but it's always the next game. This mindset helps avoid the letdown after a loss in a big game, helps avoid an upset, or sleepwalking following a big win or upset.
Contributing to the narrative that it's a crap game, not in the playoffs, it might be a losing season all gives in to players deciding to sit out or not give it their best.

Bring back Brennan, and you take the risk of losing Nuss. It's risk vs. reward. Everybody knows that Howard is the QB of the future. You think Nuss is gonna sit behind Brennan for another season (or two), knowing that Howard is waiting in the wings? I don't.
