Hmmmm this is a tough one. How about knowledge of the playbook?
Question, do you think Harris could have managed 3 points in 3 quarters against MSU with his knowledge?

No, it's just that successful people in any walk of life don't make a habit of making kneejerk decisions. Make decisions decisively and only change them after much deliberation.

What difference does it make if he takes the first snap?

Awesome, more of Jennings missing wide open wide receivers except Dural on the deep throw

not getting harris a ton of reps before going to auburn is just a colossal frick up. We have no shot to keep track with them with jennings running the show.

The problem with "QB Controversy" JL/JJ BH/AJ comparison is this. The first two played in a 4 year stretch when LSU won 41 games. I firmly believe those guys had much more pieces around them and on D, than the current pair. They also improved the win total each year they played, or it improved in spite of them.

We don't know if the current pair will have this luxury. The SEC now is much deeper with good teams which means one or both of these guys are going to have to "win" games for us against good to great teams. I could be wrong, but Harris just looks like his ceiling is higher and has a better chance to "win" against those teams. Our last seven games are full of these.

I'm not really concerned about who starts this next one, and frankly if the lines do not improve, it probably doesn't matter on the rest of them either.

Knowing this announcement would come, I was looking forward to the inevitable melt by posters. I haven't been disappointed.

miles is extremely short sighted when it comes to QB's. why didn't jennings play more last year during blowouts? for mett to pad stats?

Because these idiots here think for some reason that Miles owes it to the fans to start Harris, just so we can see what he can do it. For some reason, being declared the "starter" makes a difference to these people.

Now if they don't both see a significant amount of playing time, I would say people have a reason to complain.

Bama didn't allow many snaps for Sims either. It's really not uncommon.

Have to get Harris reps. Jennings is not capable of winning with our OLine and D. Harris might not either, but a playmaker has a better chance than a QB whose absolute best attribute is not throwing interceptions.

does anyone honestly think jennings is going to win SEC games? he just doesn't have it between the ears and he's been in the system since january 2013.

My biggest concern is not who starts/plays QB. I am more worried that they are going to have stiff playcalling not allowing the offense to have rhythm. I think the offense needs to have a semi-hurry up type tempo. Still huddle and all that, but just have an overall higher sense of urgency. This current offense reminds me of stop and go traffic.

Just to get a number, what would you consider a significant amount, and do you think he'll get it?

As with most things in life, I'm skeptical that Harris gets significant time if he doesn't start. It's not the starting that matters, it's the "we couldn't find a good time to get him in" stuff that worries me. If he starts, then we know he'll get solid time. If he doesn't, it's a crap shoot.

Has nothing at all to do with getting "the start."

miles put harris in the game saturday down 21 points to show the fans that he was right in starting jennings to get them off his back.

he didn't expect harris to throw two TD's in 38 seconds and almost a 3rd.

Harris will come in late in the 4th quarter. It is Miles' M.O. and you people need to get used to it. Who gets paid to coach football? Not you.

FWIW miles isn't the only coach that is short sighted/ scared to hurt other teams feelings. Far too many coaches don't use blow outs properly. Instead of putting the number 2 players in and letting them run the real offense in a real game they just dial it down and squat on the ball. IMO it is a horribly stupid strategy to use gimme games like that. They should be used to improve areas, gain confidence and then get players game experience running a real offense.
