Oh, he also, practiced with the George Whitfield this past summer. . .

I'm on the Harris train as much as anyone, but in the interest of fairness, Jennings was with Whitfield the week before Harris and Dupre were.

Im pretty sure harris can handle playing new mexico state and he is the hot hand. Jennings 3+ quarters of dog shite football, Harris 5 mins of greatness.

I honestly think the coaches are concerned with potential huge hits to Harris. He's not as bulked up as Jennings yet, plain and simple.

We have had an alarming number of whiffs on pass protection.

I don't really have a feeling one way or the other.

I've thought this too. Harris is a bean pole.

What reason has he given me to think that?

I wouldn't think he would have to give you a reason. You think because he doesn't trash Jennings publicly that he's ok with his play?

Did it? What did LSU win in 2004? I'd argue that by Saban stubbornly going with Randal Russell was less prepared than he ought to have been in 2005.

In that case, though, the situation was different in that you had a 5th year senior AND another RS freshman...but it was clear that Russell (despite whining from the Flynn contingent) that Russell was going to be the guy in 2005.

In the end, LSU won nothing significant, and Russell (and Flynn btw) played less than they should have.

Why? By then it's too late. By then, you are LITERALLY throwing him to the wolves in the heart of SEC play. Did we all forget 2008 and just how badly that year killed our QB play for years afterwards? the last thing I want to do is have Harris asked to do the impossible and fail and become a shell like Lee did for a long while.

Too late for what? You think either of these guys can win us a NC?

More games than we would have won if we stuck with one guy.

Of course. This is the downside. But if we go with Harris and he plays poorly, won't people blame Miles for not winning enough games? Of course Jennings has not been great, but he also hasn't thrown the ball to the other team very much. Could he be the safer quarterback who knows the offense better? Probably so.

Harris needs to play more. He needs at least half the snaps on Saturday. Ease him in there and let him earn the job. I don't think one quarter against backups proves he is the better guy yet.

Next week against Auburn starts the heart of SEC play. On the road. You want to throw him to the wolves then? Yes, we think Harris is going to end up being a lot better than Lee, but we certainly don't want to hurt his confidence going forward.

Since we already saw what Jennings has to offer, I think that it is time to see what Harris has to offer. Once it has been established, it will be easier to argue these points...

maybe not this year but I know for a fact after watching that game Anthony Jefferson wont.

Brandon Harris out talents him plain and simple. He's the future. Plus Fournette and Dupre actually want to play with him, it'd be better to get him experience now

I get that but the kid might get broken in half by November. It's not as simple as throw him in there for a full SEC schedule. I seriously doubt his body could hold up.

They need to protect the kid if anything. He's going to get his shot.

This is not at all surprising. Actually anyone with an understanding of how Miles runs his program expected it. If you thought Harris was gonna get the nod then your delusional. Hell even If Harris had guided us to a win Saturday he still was gonna get the shaft. Hell look at what Lee did throughout 2011, only to get shite on at the end of the season for the inept Jefferson.

Miles is like cancer for quarterbacks, with the exception of Mettenburger.

If Jennings is to be upset about something it would be the people saying let him take the beating instead of Harris.

What would happen if Les started Harris against Auburn on the road and he looks like a deer in headlights like he did against Wisconsin?

Harris came in on one series... hand off hand off and a miss block. How can you get anything out of that. People need to come to reality, Harris most likely wont receive snap until the late 3rd quarter of 4th quarter, and all he will do is hand the ball off. Les has always been this stubborn, he will completely go down on the ship with Jennings before he even considers handing it over. I think we can all agree Harris is going to probably struggle, but when the coaches rarely play him how can you even make that remark that he isn't ready. He looked like the better QB in the spring, looked good over the summer, and had a solid fall camp. Les needs to get over the true freshman thing at QB because what he is doing right now isn't any better. I just want the best QB, the one who gives us the best chance and the most opportunities to play. Whoever is at QB I will cheer for, if Jennings continues to struggle you have to bench him and at least give Harris a shot, if he struggles also, at least I can say Les tried but that's not how its working sadly

I never said that. I just don't think BH is mature enough physically or mentally to handle the lows that could lie ahead of him having to face a full SEC schedule right now.

Putting him in right now could be beneficial to an extent. It could also crush his confidence. How will he like it when he's the butt of the jokes on here? And that absolutely will happen when he makes his mistakes.

If that's the case then we'll have to cross that bridge when we get there. Although he's small and is gonna take some hits I think given the opportunity he'll excel

Not that I'm thrilled by the loss to MSU, but I was under the impression that this was a rebuilding year. Most experts were pointing to 2015 to be the year to expect a shot at the NC. It sucks to lose but sometimes shite happens. Try to keep your chin up.

The coaches need to look at bringing in a JUCO QB just in case neither AJ nor BH pan out. That way we have a guy who is not starting from square one, and it's less likely that Miles can screw him up.

A rebuilding year does not mean you have to knock your offense back into the stone ages.
