Even outside of that error, he wasn’t our best ever. So many to choose from overall. Hill, Nola, Smith, LeMahieu, Williams, Larson, KRob, JT.
He’s in that tier. But that error and Broham sucking his dick every day made him difficult to like.

Yeah we have a lot to choose from, and he was the most decorated SS we've ever had despite so much competition. Honestly, he's in the top 5 most decorated position players in LSU history regardless of position. And then you add in his MLB career compared to his competition, pretty ignorant to say definitively that he wasn't the best ever.
And lol at putting Kramer and JT in the same sentence with Bregman. I know you're better than that

Sure. You want to hear about it?

better than Nola
Not defensively, but obviously overall. Both were great defensive college shortstops.

Lester, Christ’s sake it’s an anonymous message board. The guy your slap-fighting with could be a 6’-4” Jujitsu world champion or he could be Pee Wee Herman.

Nola was more surehanded.
Bregman had more range. Which usually leads to more errors due to more chances and more difficult plays

I don’t know. Nola probably had slightly less range but he was a big gliding cat out there; he covered a lot of ground. And having more range doesn’t increase your chances of errors per opportunity. Both SSs will have to handle about the same number of balls at the limit of their range.

sure it does Penny. Baseball 101

sure it does
It certainly increases the number of errors, because superior range will yield more opportunities, so the same fielding percentage will produce more errors. But the guy with less range is still barely reaching balls, just like the guy with better range. Fielding percentage should not be affected.

Milam is probably slicker defensively than bregman. Softer hands and quicker, more efficient with his transitions. Im not afraid to say defensively, he is about as good as we’ve had. Up there with nola and bregman. Obviously his arm isnt plus for that position, but its still good. And he more than makes up for it with his quickness and soft hands and consistently accurate throws across the diamond

Even if Nola was better defensively, Bregman was very good and not a liability. And his bat was much better, not even comparable.

I’d just say they were both two of the best to ever do it.

he has a gold glove in major league baseball as an infielder. He also won a gold glove, at shortstop, in college. No shite he was very good and not a liability. Bregman was an elite defensive shortstop in college
