I have to say, this is one of the funniest and saddest threads I've seen on here in a while.

So a family of four costs $370? That's crazy

Any update on the food situation? Who has done the catering in the past? Was thinking of doing this next year, but this is making me have second thoughts

I wonder if LSU even knows it was food poisoning. They are pretty clueless.

Mikes kids club called me to ask about our experience and apologize for the food. The event is awesome, so they made a mistake with food this year. It sells out in less than 30 minutes, so the price isn't scaring people away. My kids had a blast and the adults loved it.
First class event that made one mistake with the food.

What about the sprinklers not being turned off and the bathroom situation? Both of those were completely under LSU's control and they blew it.

I emailed LSU on Monday stating the complaints, mainly for the food poisoning, and still haven't heard back. Completely unprofessional on LSU's part to not even acknowledge the email.

Tio Javis did address it on their facebook page a couple of days ago (just happened to pop up on my feed)

quote:

On May 5, 2017 Tio Javi’s Mexican Restaurant catered an event at Mike’s Kids Club. The following evening we were made aware of several attendees reporting illnesses. Our Human Resource Department and our insurance company are investigating the situation. At the moment, we do not know what was the exact culprit of the illnesses, but we are searching hard for the answer. We have catered this event several times, and never had a complaint. Even though we don’t yet know the cause of these illnesses we’re standing by to help. If any attendee needs immediate medical attention, or would like to share their issues with our business, please contact Sage Hammer at 406-551-4982. We can assist in your needs or put you in touch with the right person. - Burke Moran, Tio Javi’s Owner

none of this surprises me in the least. the athletic department and facilities department don't have a clue how to handle events.

Really wish LSU would hire someone is very familiar how to put on these events and let them control everything. It seems like LSU gives the jobs to student workers who only work 10 hrs.
