Still wouldn't take him. Minter commited to LSU, Mauti did not.

Toss in he's got two blown knees, nah.

I like our guys.

they were fricked today

If they love PSU, they can remain.

If they want to play in bowls, for conference titles, they can transfer.

The only "fricked" people in this are/were the child victims who PSU leadership allowed to be sexually abused for yrs by their inaction.

I'm sorry for the PSU players, but in the grand scheme of things they have better options than bout anyone else in this cluster####. imo

I will take Gerald Hodges though and there have been rumors of this (from poor sources), but still rumors are better than nothing, to me at least.

no, we dont need any slapdicks from PSU. We have Minter. Kevin Minter, he chose LSU and paid his dues.

well in his defense, per rivals..."One of the state's top linebackers is still yet to receive an offer from LSU. However, he is not that worried about it. Mandeville linebacker Michael Mauti already has offers on the table from the likes of Arkansas, Florida, Ole Miss, Oklahoma and Penn State. However, the 6-2, 215-pound linebacker has yet to receive an offer from Les Miles and the Tigers."

we did not choose him

LSU never offered...he did not have the chance to choose.

Some comments on here are just ignorant! This is a top notch kid and a hell of a player! He would easily UPGRADE our Linebacking corps and start

I have not seen enough of the kid to agree or disagree with this statement, but IF it is true, then I absolutely would welcome him at LSU. Other top schools around the country are going to go after the top PSU players, and I see no reason why LSU should not be in the mix, especially if there is a player that the coaches think could help our team. I would be very leery of taking a RB given the logjam at that position, but a LB could make sense, especially since that is perhaps the one position where we have not been dominant on D. A CB would also be nice if the player had a couple of years of eligibility - we are a little thin at that position due to transfers.

NO, we don't need any of those dick heads at LSU! I thought they should have gotten the death penalty, like SMU got several yrs. ago for recruiting. :rimshot:

If he didn't blow out both his knees then maybe...plus he's a grad student so does he really want to transfer? He's not going to get drafted with his injury history.

Mauti is stud ILB that has been plagued by injuries recently. But, he has 1 season of eligibility left and is coming off an ACL tear. I dont care how good you are or what team you go to, its nearly impossible to start at ILB, calling the plays, making the checks at the line when you have only been in the program a few weeks. The kid can play and if he was a sophomore I would be all for getting this kid. But, he has 1 season left and then hes off to the pros.

Yea but this year it's win the National title or not reach expectations. So if we can sign anyone who can make us better this year, we should do it.

WTF? I understood Mauti was all Penn State from the getgo because of his family history.

So why not take a chance on him he wouldn't count again the 85. We have nothing to lose. If he learns the system great and if he doesn't what ever.

I Would absolutely NOT go after this kid, and it has nothing to do with him personally or as a player. He would be a great add.

The problem is with the NCAA ruling regarding PSU transfers. LSU could take him this year and it would not count against the 25 limit, HOWEVER, they would have to give up a spot on the 2014 class (limit drops to 24). Considering the talent level of the 2014 class and the start that LSU already has, would you REALLY waste a spot for a LB from another program who only has one year of eligibility?

Probably not but I would still take the other LB Gerald Hodge even though we would only get him for one year.

Hell no...I wouldn't want a 6-2, 240 lb Butkus Award watch list guy available for duty on my D.
