I’m sad to hear about Coach Leach passing. The man was a innovative genius, who helped elevate the college football played during his generation. His interviews were always the best. You never where his thoughts would go to during an interview. RIP coach.

The last quarterback Mike Leach coached was Will Rogers. He thrived in the Air Raid offense over the last three years with Mississippi State, leading the SEC in passing yards in 2021 and 2022 under Leach’s tutelage.
Leach passed away Monday night from complications due to a heart condition, and the tributes poured in Tuesday morning after Mississippi State announced the news. Rogers took to Twitter to share his memories of his head coach and paid a touching tribute.
“I was in 1st grade when Graham threw the ball to Crabtree against Texas,” Rogers tweeted. “Thank you for giving me a chance as a 17 year old. From Wazzu, to Mississippi State I will never forget everything you taught me and the relationship we had. I will see you again someday coach.”

Absolute Legend.
Massive loss for the sport we all love.
Never be another like him.
That gif maybe illustrates who Leach was better than any other video. On the one had you have your buttoned up, stern, "professional", stiff coach rambling on with uninteresting, canned, coach-speak.
Then you have a guy who steals the room literally without saying a word. He could not care less that it was a "formal" setting with dozens of cameras on him and media members watching him from the crowd. He was doing EXACTLY what he would be doing if he were sitting by himself in his office. No other coach in college football would do that. None. He had no peers in terms of personality and candor. He truly was 1 of 1

Reporter: When people write the Mike Leach Obituary, how do you want to be remembered?
CML: Well, that's their problem. They're the ones writing the obituary. I mean, what do I care? I'm dead.

Hate to hear this. Have always liked The Pirate and respected him for doing it his way trying to make the game fun for his players and fans. Prayers to the family, this should be the time of celebrating the birth of Christ, not the loss of a loved one.
