I don't think you will enjoy it on such a restrictive schedule.
Yeah, I'd do that drive if I was retired or something like that, and on no real time schedule. Unless they sleep in the vehicle, it seems like it would be more expensive overall (and very tiring) than just flying at 1k.
I've actually done a longer drive than this, BR to Northwest Washington (2600 miles), but only one way, and I really had a very flexible schedule.

I've done BR to Fort Collins, 21 hours, in two legs.

If we actually do it is this probably one of the dumbest ideas I've ever has? Yes
Go for it. My son is stationed at Camp Pendleton and wanted his SUV. I could have paid about $1,000 to get it shipped out there, but I drove from Mobile straight down from I-10 to San Diego. It was a blast just to see north of San Antonio all the way through New Mexico and Arizona. Wouldn’t want to live out there but it was cool seeing that region of the country. I took Route 66 back and that was cool too. People don’t realize just how big this country is until you drive all over the place and look.

Breeze Air out of Gulfport has a direct to Vegas with tickets for less than $500 right now. Why the hell would you drive for 50 hours?

If you are desperate for a road trip, I just searched Kayak and found round-trip flights from Houston to Vegas for $166 roundtrip. Sure the flights are shitty, but better than 900 miles of Texas driving. Road trip to Houston and fly the rest of the way. The flight was Sat to Mon.

It’s not bad. I’ve done it. Definitely do it!

On your death bed, you will have much fonder memories of driving with your baw than sitting in an AP or on a lame arse plane. Rocknroll burn rubber to Vegas and come in on 2 wheels, then burn it down and limp home.

Check flights to Los Angeles, stay a night in Manhattan Beach, rent a car and drive 4 hours east to Las Vegas.

Drive to Houston and fly from Houston to Vegas.

From someone who has driven from LA to Baton Rouge and back many times while in the Air Force, I would not take that long of a drive again. I'd bite the bullet and get airfare.

Agree. Drove from Southern Cal to North La. twice when i was in the Navy. Sucks...

Long drive, but build in some fun stops if you can. I've always enjoyed a good road trip personally as long as my passengers are fine with stops here and there and not turning it into "WE GOTTA GET THERE NOW" type shite. Hopefully you built in that leisure each way. It'll be much better like that.

287 between Dallas and Amarillo is not for the soft hearted and then it only gets worse once you are past Amarillo. That being said I say go for it but my advice would be to add a 3rd friend for the ride for better driving logistics and general frickery

So you broke dicks have no job

How much time are you allowing yourself to drive there and then back? That would be the key for me. It could be a awesome road trip if you don't rush and stop and see some sights. But if you are going to try some insane turn around you are nuts.

It sounds like he is trying to leave immediately after end of game & drive 25 hrs straight… getting back around 12am Monday night/Tuesday morning.

If you are renting a car. Fly to LA or Phoenix and THEN drive?? Flights might be 200-300per, but it would save you about 20+ hours
