I don't think there has ever been a Tiger team that has actually used the pass to set up the run. There was talk about this a couple times but to my knowledge it was never executed as the game plan.

With Burrows, and the lack of top quality RB, Steve E has talked about wanting to pass first. It would do my old heart good to see the pigskin fly all over TS to a variety of talented WRs on all three downs without first having to "ground and pound".

Pass to set up the run..... sounds like an Ole Miss Coach Freeze game plan for Alabama

Clyde Edwards-Helaire fits this bill. Apparently you need to be told what one looks like. You’re welcome.

I remember when Tommy Hodsun was playing, it was pass first, long time ago obviously, but it was pass first.

I love how everyone forgets Jamarcus and Mettenberger. While it may not have been pass 1st those offenses were pass heavy and put up points and yards.

Didn’t that team with Mett, Odell, and Jarvis use the pass to set up the run or am I remembering this wrong?

It is easier to run block than pass block.

Les miles is a liar saying we had a good offensive line when we had a bad offensive line.

Has coach o said whether we have a good or bad offensive line this year. We need to get him locked in in an answer to see if he is going to hell for lying like les miles is.

My bad. Proven RB

I like CEH and think he will have a great career at LSU. But others seem to think we are in dire trouble so I just went with it. But we aren't nearly as deep as normal.

I don't think it was even then although we were much more balanced.

But will the stadium be empty after the half?

Using the pass to set up the run is an idiotic strategy in college. None of the top teams do this, and if LSU tries it, which I doubt, they will finish no better than 7-6.

There is nothing more demeaning to a defense than running it down their throats. Remember that drive against Ole Miss where we ran the ball every down except the last from the goal line?

Former HC L. Miles disapproves.
