Came across this interview with one of my favorite Tigers of all time. He talks about his days at LSU playing for Saban and claims he cares much more about his players than people think.

LSU fans still secretly want Saban, they feel he is the one that got away and the he chose Alabama over LSU.

I heard Andrew Whitworth say he was happy when Saban left. He was tired of saying 'good morning' to a coach every day who would never say anything back.
Yeah. Sounds like a real friendly, caring dude.

Listen to what Michal Clayton says. Former national champ (at LSU), several accolades in college and NFL great. He loves LSU and he knows where he came from and who has helped him.

This is basically the case but when Saban left the Dolphins the LSU job wasn't open and we did win a Natty the next year.

Crazy he is only 34 years old... After his rookie year I thought he was going to be great...

The Miami deal was a bogus placeholder until Shula got fired. I'm convinced bama tampered with an existing sec coach. Never believe Miami didn't work. It's the kind of shut bama can do and no one will stop them. He was and is a greedy egotistical little liar. Sorry, but true. College ball is ruined with him and bama cooking the books

Never have thought of this but who knows, I was more of the opinion that Wayne Huyzinga who was a well known Florida alum was definitely on the hunt to get Saban away from LSU so that Florida would rise to the top again . Certainly as you put it, would not surprise me a bit.

Dumb, just dumb

Just your opinion?

Not jilted over AL - jilted in the way Saban left LSU so late in the game for Miami, which limited coach search opportunities and recruiting that year. The facts are that Saban wanted back to LSU but Miles had won the hearts of lost LSU fans and a contract extension. Saban's opportunity to go back to LSU was cut short because of that - nothing else and certainly not related to anything Alabama did. Bama was in more need of a good coach at the time - one of the lowest points in Bama history was how they jilted Shula.
