In all seriousness, they are deep and athletic as hell, but not a smart or organized team. Waters is about as fast as a point guard can conceivably get with the ball so it’s important Winston doesn’t get him with blocking fouls on drives. We can’t let this become a bench game for long stretches because theirs is significantly better including Smart who can be a killer.

Maryland’s PF was wide open for 3’s whenever he wanted to shoot them, Goins needs to hit at least 2 big ones for us which would be huge. Goins will also have his hands more than full with whoever out of Bigby/Reid Tillman isn’t guarding at the time. Genuinely curious if Ward will be able to stay on the floor, he looked better on D against Minny.

I think you have to favor us because we’re a better team, but if we turn the ball over 20 times or brick a bunch of 3’s we’re simply gonna get beat. Hopefully the refs call some hand checks on them because they clutch and grab in your face every single defensive possession it seems like. Though we don’t have the zone defense card, which was the only reason Maryland made the game competitive, we also have Winston whereas their PG Cowans got absolutely dominated by Waters. We also run offensive sets and true screen and roll.... and Maryland has Turdgeon.

Pretty fair analysis of our team.

I think he confused us with Yale poking our guys in the eye 2 possessions in a row

Surprisingly spot-on. Michigan State is a big basketball school so I imagine their fans are pretty savvy.

I see about 10 percent analysis there. He has nothing to say about our glass crashing and post paint scoring? Nothing about Mayes late in a game?

Personally, I’m a bit miffed he didn’t expound on the length Courtese Cooper brings to the practice court.

My brain tells me that Mich. State wins this one and that we might have reached the end of the road. They frankly should have been a 1 seed and they have one of the best tournament coaches ever.

At the same time, I have a really, really hard time counting this team out until they are truly out. We've got a group of fighters and they aren't going down easy.

I thought the same thing. I wouldn't expect them to know our scout team, but you'd think if someone was going to give an analysis they'd talk about all of our strong points.

And I don't agree with "unorganized." Wade addressed this as soon as he got to campus. Probably one of the most organized teams in the league.

I am sure he is basing it on the two games we've played in the tourney so far. From an outside perspective, giving up huge leads in both games seems unorganized.

The general perception on their board is that we are at a disadvantage with CTB instead of CWW, which I would agree with.

@ South of South

Thank you for representing us on the board. You gave great analysis and showed much restraint against some absolutely idiotic comments

I was hoping for a little more civilized conversation, but I wasn't really able to get it.

It's just like it is here. Some guys wanting to have spirited conversation and game break down while others just want to tell them to STTDB

Either way, good stuff

This. It’s not their first rodeo. Pretty reasonable take on our team.

I agree. But damn I'm hoping with everything going on LSU can send Mich St. then Duke to the house and make everyone suck on it.

I don’t expect LSU ago get any 50/50 calls in this game

MSU by 8, despite a valiant effort by the tigers

Need to shutdown Cassius and the 3 ball.
MSU is a completely different team when he’s on the bench. Their backup pg can be forced into making bad plays and turnovers.

They’re dangerous if they get hot from 3 and will be really hard to stop. Can’t let them play against us like Auburn did to KU the other night.

This will come down to the final 2-3 minutes
