Here's the whole sentence like he said it:
quote:

I definitely didn't play how I really wanted to all year and I can promise to everybody out there no one's going to worker harder than I am on this team to try to put this behind me and go out and have a great senior year like I deserve,"

And here's how you read it:
quote:

"going to work harder"--kind of Tebow-esque, but implies some slacking off this year. Either Mett is not as talented as all the hype, or he didn't work hard enough this year. He was mediocre at best (but had some great fun with his facial hair at mid-season!)

You quoted a small portion of that sentence and totally changed the meaning of what he said.

Idiot.

most coaches are deathly afraid of turnovers.

most coaches ruin their offense/team/championship hopes because of it?

No, no you aren't. Because that quote is not worrisome.

yeah, Mett going into the offseason thinking he is hot shite that only threw one bad pass in that game is going to result in a monster QB next year. He might have as many TDs as games played next year.

That's a cop out Max.
JL and JJ both had better 25yd+ comp% under same staff.
Mettsiah needs more deep reps, or much faster WRs to make up the 10yds.

Frickin payton manning says that crap every week and you know he's one of the hardest working guys in the NFL.

He just means he's gonna bust his butt to get us to a championship.

"It sucks for the night."? What the hell does that even mean? I don't think he's smart enough to be a QB. He's definitely not fast enough.

I'm way more concerned with Mett singling out Alexander than any of these comments. Not very leader-like.

You don't single out a teammate for criticism in public. Keep that shite in-house.

If I had a dime for every overthrown long ball this year, well..... I'd have enough to buy several happy meals to try to make me happy when I'm not about another one of our poor bowl game appearances.

That is what you took out of his quote?

"the one" bad throw most definitely refers to 2nd and 2 overthrow of Landry.

Landry was in the same line as our other receiver farther past Landry. I wonder if Mett looked out there and saw two receivers in the same line and threw perfectly right between them. Is it possible that some of these balls are off the mark because our receiver is forced by the DB to alter his route. You don't have that much time to figure it out. Maybe our receivers need a little more strength to muscle their way in the open.

I read that as encouraging - he's taking accountability and feels bad about letting the team down and plans to work really hard to fix it. What else can he do?

I have to side with Maximus on this one. You can never lose your starting job if you don't throw an interception. Throw 5 yards past the receivers, take sacks if you have to, but if you throw an INT or even a scary looking pass your job is in jeopardy.

Remember how Mett was schooled on throwing INT's in the end zone against scrub teams earlier this year? All while Miles threw more points away with his offensive scheming.
