I can't think of a better thread to illustrate the unreasonableness and lack of sophistication of some posters here.
First, I find his statements to be encouraging. (his comments about a bad game by our tackle were troubling).
Second, comments about his facial hair, etc are right out of the ninth grade.
Third, for those who say Mett hasn't worked hard enough, you may be right. But to responsibly say that requires an extraordinary exposure to his daily work out routines. Perhaps you are a roommate or offensive team mate.
Fourth, there's not a lot Mett can do about his mobility. Timing is a seperate issue and he work to do there, as well as his footwork (which is not he same as "mobility").
I was a little disappointed in Mett's play, too, but he's s first year starter in an awful offensive scheme. I am prepared to assess whether my expectations about his play were reasonable.
Maybe some of you should give some thought to that , too.
See you at recess.

OK so what exactly does the QB coach and the WR coach do?

If you want to debate the entire team focus, thats fine. But he is no different than alot of our players with their "cash money" twitter accounts. Russell Sheppard spent this whole season talking about getting his twitter account "verified" as if he were famous, and getting ready for the combine.

well Mett must be a hard worker if russell shepard sent out tweets

I could buy it while both Lee and JJ were still here, but now they are both gone.
ZM has different skill set, different tendencies, different football presence all together.

idiot. your stalkerish love for J Lee is messing with your reading comprehension.

You know thats not my argument dude. I will agree that the entire team needs to do a 180 with their focus. Mettenberger is not the only player with priorities out of whack.

Fourth, there's not a lot Mett can do about his mobility.

I think there's something that can be done about his pocket awareness. No he's not mobile but you wouldn't call Tom Brady or Drew Brees mobile either. Yet they have great pocket awareness and can move around in the pocket to buy more time. That's a skill that I hope Krags will work with him to improve during this off-season.

I don't dispute that. He definitely needs to have more awareness. I do believe if we give him adequate protection he could really shine though.

my thing with him as that even with OL inconsistencies i should still see "flashes of brilliance" as if he has a high ceiling. i just don't see it imo. his ceiling is serviceable.

Y'all got to give Mett some credit for standing in the pocket and delivering the ball. He got rocked a couple times in the Bama game but still got the ball to the WR.

i do and then i give tahj boyd double the amount of credit.

I'm ready to put this season behind me. Disappointing for sure, but I'm confident that we'll be ready next year. I hope I'm right

you dont think Miles has gone full 180 retard scared of INTs since 2008? you don't think Mr turtleneck mustache overthrowing every deep ball by 10 yards could have anything to do with Miles and co. being deathly afraid of turnovers now?

One bad throw? I can think of three that essentially lost the game. Overthrowing Boone and Landry deep and then the 3rd and 2. And I don't want to hear how Boone had it. He should never have had to lay out for that pass. It should have dropped in his arms as he was walking in the end zone.

it was the same pass the back up south carolina qb hit for the winning t.d. and he didn't throw it perfect, just good enough to let the guy stop and catch it. Mett didn't give booen a chance to catch it.

That's a reach. Mett was just being real...and at 20 years old you are going to parse the kid's words?

that risks an INT. Miles is teaching his goon QBs to never do that. Always err on the side of incompletion. It has worked to perfection.
