And I second it.

A fan base will always be calling for the backup to play unless you have a guy like Andrew Luck or Mallet QBing. "If your QB is no prodigy, play the backup!" seems to be the logic here.

How dumb. Mett will take the reins next year and it will be his turn. If Mett isn't some world beater at QB, people will be calling for Rivers. As long as JL isn't making mistakes, isn't losing the game for us, and connects on necessary passes, LSU will go far this year. QB play isn't as important to LSU as the ground game. There will come a time this season when we will have to rely on JL's arm, and I get the feeling it will be Bama. Whoever is out there QBing for LSU, I will cheer him on and defend his starting role until I'm blue in the face.

jarrett lee pass: 5:30 in the 2nd qtr. ball on the opp 40 yard line. 2nd and 10. hes in the shot gun. catches the snap, fades backward, and throws a rainbow shot to ford running to the short sideline. in his attempt to throw the ball over the DLmen, he almost throws a pick(probably would get returned for a TD) before ford one hand catches the awfully thrown ball, gets blown up by the LBer, gets pushed back, but spins ahead for a no gain. i mean this is shades of 08 auburn. its been 3 years since, and he still does these types of things. who is confident when he drops back and looks over the D?? im terrified

It's just stupid and ignorant. You are downplaying the credibility of a top 5 team based on the idea that Oregon may not be a top 5 team in 4 months
Just because some idiot sports analyst says someone is good doesnt mean they are you will see who the best teams are during the latter part of the season

This whole thread is retarded and I have posted in it three times. Aggghhhh. Well played retard. Well played.

It is like when a 300 pound chick walks by you and she is wearing cloth shorts that are 5 sizes too small and her cellulite-infested arse cheeks are hanging out...you know you should just turn away and keep going, pretending that you never saw what you just saw. But you can't help it. You look back for another view...even though it is the most hideous thing you have ever seen...just trying to fit it inside your head. You also will not keep it to yourself...you feel the need to share what you have seen with everyone because it was just so outrageous that nobody would dare believe it unless they saw it for themselves.

Or maybe this thread is not like that at all. I don't know.

You're not terrified. You're upset. You want failure and you're mad that he hasn't failed yet.

You know what, you are right. I am sure that "idiot sports analyst" ranked them off a gut feeling and not the fact that they have a Heisman QB and RB contender and went to the National Championship last season.

I am also curious about this.
his ability to throw the rock. 2700 yards and a 32-4 TD-INT ratio. say what you want it being a juco, it shows he can distribute and avoid turnovers. thats all we need here

He looked good. Very comfortable, his passes were very accurate but it was against Nw st.

I'm sure it won't be that last time we see him under center but he won't start, I assure you. Unless Lee gets hurt.

Nothing against the kid, he looks awesome, but he's still new. Let him get playing time in like the QB's before him and the QB's before them. He'll be ok.

Perfect summary. Mett is good and will be awesome. But there has to be an order of things, a predictability. Lee is doing good with a strong chance of being great.

So is this still not a Lee bashing thread?

I am curious, do you know the definition of "pedigree"?

This

JL has experience in SEC play and hasn't done anything to have any fan saying he should lose the starting job.

Leadership was discussed to death between JL and JJ so who knows maybe the team doesn't even view mett as a leader yet.

i'm just glad to know that Mett is so awesome cuz he has "pedigree" and he completed some very short passes against the worst opponent LSU has had in 5 years.

I feel great now. And here I was thinking I should wait and see what he does against a real team with the game on the line like possibly AT FLORIDA when I am behind and need a TD to win.

What an idiot I am. I guess the rest of the world are idiots too and LSUTIGER in TEXAS has all set us straight.

Thank the Lord we didn't go thru the season with the abomination that is Jarrett Lee at QB.

Thanks LTIT you saved us all from ourselves.

Florida and Tennessee from last year say hi.
he played great in those games. we needed everything he gave us. but he has never played well as the starter, and our gameplan offensively right now is: hand off, hand off, hand off. why is it a big deal whos handing off?

Ok, this is it. This totally blows up every thing you have been saying. NW St. is the equivalent of a JuCo, if not better. How can you blast JLee for "only" doing this against NW St. but then show Metts stats from JuCo. This is crazy. Is this really happening?
