Some of the Maker's Private Select expressions are really good. Eagle Rare is outstanding if you can find it. I'll probably break out my last bottle of Blanton's if we win!

Eagle Rare

They named that shite.appropriately. Rare!!! Can’t even find it but this is good stuff.

Whistle pig is good. Makers made a honeysuckle blend off their 101 I believe. Very good.

An awesome rye on the rocks is templeton rye. One of the smoothest ones I’ve had on the rocks.

Four Roses single barrel

This is a solid recommendation. If you live close to a Rouse's, or Calandro's they will help you pick one.

If you are sipping and not mixing a glass full of "highball" then get a good small batch, single barrel of something...if you will be mixing with coke/7up, etc. just grab a bottle of Evil Williams and save some $$.

You will see a lot of recommendations for Blanton's but it may be hard to find and IMHO is overrated, a persons taste for bourbon is like noses....

Blantons is over priced bullshite.

Would be a buy all day at the $45 dollar mark but it’s laughable people are buying it at twice that value.

I bought three bottles about 4 years ago in Chicago for about $36 each. (Still working on the last one.)
Unfortunately, all the distilleries are limiting production of popular brands to jack up the price. It's outrageous, and as long as some people will pay the inflated prices, they'll continue doing it. I was in Kentucky a couple of weeks ago. Found Eagle Rare for $100 and Blanton's for $200!! Obviously, I passed on both. As you point out, there are lots of good bourbons out there for a decent price.

I’m limited to one per day from the local liquor store, but Eagle Rare is $39.99. Handles of BT are a little bit more but I’m not a fan
