It’s probably not any teams goal. My prognostications are not reality, much less goals. But the reality is that the whole leave isn’t going 9-9. And the depth this team could have had went to the portal. The reality is that team are either going to win with quality depth or high end front line players. It’s hard to say this team has either. Nobody is setting goals at sub .500 but half of the leage will finish below it.

I am getting phone calls from the ticket office REMINDING me to renew my season ticket. That's a very telling sign of desperation and tells me they have the understanding that many season ticket holders have let it be known they are done with the program for now.

What is overlooked about last year was how poor our guard play was and the effect it had on the offense. While we still wouldn't have been really good, we would have been far better with the previous years guards Pinson, Murray and Gaines. We had so many offensive sets blown up because our guards couldn't dribble in traffic. This cause numerous turnovers or disruption of the play because the defense got a hand on the ball nearly every time down the court.

I would take it considering how strong the SEC will be next year. 8 wins would mean a shot at 20 wins overall and on the bubble, and would allow us to recruit as an up and coming program.

Grew up watching a lot of Southland conference basketball at my local university and it will be a major disappointment if he doesn’t win that conference with what he’s able to get there. A lot of the great basketball schools from the Southland that have pulled some major upsets in the Tournament are now gone(SFA, Sam Houston, and more recently Abilene Christian). It’s an absolute dumpster fire basketball conference.
