This takes away any credibility you could've had. It's just plain stupid to say he sucked. He was hands down the most successful coach LSU ever had and nobody has beaten saban(isn't this the measuring stick?) more than him. No coach was gonna be in the title game regularly with Saban in their division.

He lost 6 in a row to Saban. LSU shouldn't accept or pay someone 5 million a year who loses 5 in a row to anyone, including Saban.

I guarantee Orgeron won't get 5 chances, nor should he.

The problem wasn't firing Miles. I think most people understood why that needed to be done.

However, one really must question how committed LSU is to winning championships if you're going to go through all the trouble and spend all the money to fire Miles and Cameron just to end up with Orgeron and Ensminger.

That just doesn't add up. It's like we chose to burn the whole thing down then decided rebuilding it was too hard. Now we're basically trying to pass a smoldering pile of rubble off for a championship caliber program. It just doesn't work.

Bobby Bowden was the most successful coach Florida State ever had and on the day he left that position he sucked

Bear Bryant was the most successful coach Alabama had ever had to that point and on the day he left that position he was in decline

Joe Paterno. Ditto

Perfect mirror on the situation. Long as the incompetents have the power in this football asylum, this will be the best we can hope for.

I would still say it was past time to swap out CLM. Maybe conduct a real, real search and not limit the field to just Herman and Jimbo? Do it by end of season, latest?
This would require Alleva to
1. Grow a set of balls
2. Own up to the mistake(s)
3. Push back on F. King and BOS to stand up for what he believes

I don't see that happening. Will need a new AD first. Actually, will need a new President as well. A President/AD combo that cared enough and was passionate enough about the search to put together the best possible coaching staff could easily sway the BOS one way or the other.

Maybe not "easily" as you think. Lots of money and politics entrenched in that little BoS. But I mostly agree with you, regardless. Change in AD and President are essential, otherwise nothing really changes but names. Mediocrity and money remains.

I despised Les Miles being our HC not long after he was hired....O hasn't crashed and burned yet. If he does, Aranda better crank up that personality and hope Saban retires soon.

Honestly, at this point, O is the least of LSU's problems. The main problem is King and Alleva.

I'm scared to think that if Aranda is indeed the HC in waiting, what happens when Aranda tries to remake the program the way he wants and Alleva steps in and puts his own special brand of stink on it. How long do you think the Arandas of the world put up with the Allevas?

Alleva is a cancer. He must go.

I didn't immediately try to find the least fricking qualified replacement right behind them!

If a person needs to be fired, they need to be fired. They don't suddenly get better just because you go full retard when replacing them.

most people I know who defended keeping Miles weren't doing so because he was a phenomenal coach.
It was time to replace him.
But they almost all agreed that the man doing the hiring needed to be replaced first.

History already shows that replacing a guy with Miles' record and actually improving on it is extremely difficult and rare.

Doing it with someone of Alleva's caliber is pretty much a hopeless pipe dream.

We're at the beginning stages of Tennessee post Fulmer, Texas post Brown. Dark days ahead.
Who remembers the "Sports Illustrated" issue with Dale Brown on the cover? "Crazy Days at LSU" was boldly emblazoned on there.

We might be heading for another SI cover down the road with an Alleva and Orgeron photo taking center stage!

"Crazy Days at LSU 2.0".................

I always said to the haters they better hope and pray Alleva doesn't out last Les.

These people were delusional and continue to make shite up to downgrade Les' time and prop O up.

It's psychotic.

Just think about Les' firing. They did it when they did in case he WON more games and got people back in his corner.

Joe Alleva sabotaged the 15 season, wasted the 16 by firing coach 4 games in. And now has wasted 17 with the Ed o and Canada show. Next year could be another waste with the E experiment.

You do realize Miles worst, the last 5 years has more wins than any other coach 5 year stretch in LSU FB history?
Was he a victim of his own success?
Recruiting was very strong, and hadn't suffered 2 losing seasons unlike UTk.

Miles was a victim of his own stubbornness... PERIOD.

Next year may or may not suck... I do not know/will not know until the games are played, but so many idiots and haters can not stop the critique on a 9-4 coach's first year.

Fulmer's decline was helped along by Chavis' continued losses to Fl with his Defense philosophy.
That also hurt Miles some, although it got complicated by Miles's offense, or lack of .. at least in creativity.

Well he does pretty much own the LSU offensive record book, all under 4 or 5 different OCs. Top 3 ppg, 4/5 top spots in offensive TDs, and on and on and on.......
That might make one less likely to 2nd guess himself.

and other than maybe a few years our offense was always our weakness. Do you really think our offense was our strength during the CLM era?
