It’s just like their argument that the donors will pony up $15 mil to give McMahon if we keep him and continue losing but they’ll never pony millions less to fire him. These people are fricking dumb

Absolutely insane that McMahon still has this much on his buyout.

Scott Woodward was an incredibly bad negotiator. He just paid the max, fully guaranteed on everything

What an insane way to manage a department

And why did he have to pay the max? Did it have anything to do with having to go over and above because no one wanted to come in and clean up the mess Wade left?

There are plenty of mid major coaches that would have jumped at the chance to come here. So yes the fat arse over paid as usual.

1. It had been years since the ncaa dropped the hammer on anyone
2. The NCAA had already begun losing court cases by that point so we could have challenged any punishment
3. Even if the threat of punishment was real, plenty of coaches would look at that as a good program to jump to
4. The portal means everyone has a new roster each year so condition of roster isn’t a big deal

Also Wade had the program in better shape than anyone in the last two decades on the day he was fired. MM got to take over a program that was winning in the second and had 3 (4) straight tournys
The biggest hinderance to getting a good coach was fat Scott himself

Maryland hired Buzz Williams away from A&M last offseason with a $30 mil contract and come April 1st his buyout will be lower than McMahon's. And that contract was done by some interims because Maryland's AD left for SMU. Scott's work on the McMahon contract is fricking insane.

Scott and contracts are bad news Catholic bears.

Before LSU it was Jimbos contract

At LSU:
Ed O massive extension yes after a nc but he put the money and buyout so far out
Bo P - 3 million DC full buyout for a guy out of d-1 for a decade as a dc
Brian Kelly - golden parachute to retirement ten years for an elderly coach that never won a nc at the highest level
MM- long fully locked in

Scott and money decisions are not good together

Grossly incompetent. Should be sued for negligence

Yea LSU shouldn’t be paying anything to him and should be suing for how incompetent he was.

I was even nice and left off the Kim contract despite that program losing a millions a year even with it being artificially propped up by espn

No.

Nobody wanted to work for an Athletic department that would throw you under the bus.

Yea that was the bigger threat than anything Wade did.

Do you want to work for a meddler that knows absolutely nothing about your sport and has family ties to the ncaa that make him someone that would knife you in the back so family isn’t embarrassed

Name me a basketball coach that is clean and a winner?

Just so you know the winner part disqualifies MM

Also if you are a Dale Brown fan then quite hypocritical to be upset at Wades cheating. Brown actually got us put on legitimate probation not self induced

That 15M before paying Wade’s salary.

I think LSU does NOT want to make a hire this year.

The amount of damage he did would make you believe that some aggy turned woodward while he was in college station.

To think he had TONS of people taking up for him on here after Landry got him fired.

Terrible offensive philosophy, too much one on one play, etc. It was almost as bad as pickup basketball with better talent.
